Re: Newbie alert...
Just had a nice hours' run. Maybe I am being a little fussy about the emission dip. It does not impact upon riding at all,. I'll probably stop noticing it soon or change the cans and re-jet anyway...

Re: VTR Spcialists?
I'm fine with the oil and filter, it's things like getting the cct sorted, balancing the carbs or re-jetting I'll need help with. I agree that a lot of dealers employ 18 year idiots to mangle your bike, but there must be some good one's out there? No?

Re: My VTR with ABM Comfort Kit
I had the ABM kit on my old ZZR1100. Quality kit and really improved the riding position. I think I may go down this route if I have any issues with the standard set up, but as I have only done about 100 miles so far I don't know yet!

VTR Spcialists?
Are there any VTR specialists in the Yorkshire area? There are half a dozen Honda dealers, but I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for looking after the 'Storm? It is due a service and MOT so I would like to know I was taking it somewhere with a decent reputation.

Re: Newbie alert...
Will get the cct sorted as a priority. It has the original air filter, but I can notice a slight flat spot at about 5.5k. I know it is built in for the emissions test so I would have thought half an hour on a dyno would get rid of it?

Re: absolute chaos!
I was in India a few months back, Dheli and Bangalore, and I honestly thought I was going to die in the taxis to and from the hotels and airports. :eek2 They have no concept of road safety as most of them they believe in fate and reincarnation, so if they are going to die there is nothing they can d...

Re: A bit of help and thought?
I had a 929 a couple of years ago and I have ridden a couple of R1's. TBH once you have either of these bikes you will probably want to start spending money again unless they have been really looked after, i.e. FSH and low milage. I have just given up Blade's and ZX9R's to ride something that I can ...

Re: Honda CBR1100 Blackbird
Had a Blackbird a couple of years ago. Fantastic build quality and effortless power. It is a big heavy bike to move about your garage, but your mate sounds like a strong chap! The only regular failing is the rectifier, but a new one is only £50 and a doddle to fit. The price for year and mileage is...

Newbie alert...
Evening all As I have just bought an '03 VTR1000 I thought I had better sign up to take advantage of the collective intellect of the VTR1000 forum members! I have attached a pic (I hope). She' s only done 5,700 miles with one owner, so pretty much immaculate and standard, although the first owner on...
