Re: Rear Shock fitting.

Hi Paul,
This will raise the rear the equivalent of a 5mm slip plate to help quicken the steering.
I cannot say how it will feel with Renthal hi-bars having never ridden a bike with them fitted.

Re: Rear Shock fitting.

If guys have had their forks tuned and are fitting an aftermarket damper with adjustable length facility I recommend that you set the shock length to 347mm "centre eye to centre eye" for improved handling.

Re: Lidless Airbox - Posts from Roger are Welcome :)

Hi James This is my second attempt answer your specific question but I must have got something wrong when I tried to post it the first time! The "Lidless" airbox mod is only used in conjunction with Stage1 camshafts in Ported & Gasflowed heads. It also requires a K&N filter (best t...

Re: fork spring spacers

The OEM Standard spring is 310mm long and the OEM steel spacer is 100mm. If your spring was shorter than 310mm then they should have supplied a spacer tube for you to cut to length. As there is no pre load in a standard fork on assembly if you have shorter springs then the bike will be lower at the ...

Re: fork spring spacers

The TOTAL length of Spring + Spacer (without the two washers) should be 410mm on a VTR.
Hope this helps

Re: Moriwaki cans

There is no problem in polishing the anodising off the Moriwaki cans if you wish. These cans were also available from the factory in polished Titanium (WT) at the same price. The only thing is that the coloured cans make them instantly recognisable as a Moriwaki product as no other manufacture manag...

Re: vtr short lived

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. The internals of all VTR 1000f OEM Standard forks are identical. There was no factory internal upgrade as happened between the VTR-SP1 and VTR-SP2 which only solved one of several issues with these forks an created another one! Good Luck with the rebuild. Regards Roger
