Re: Looking for 19L fuel tank

At one time Revolution Racing used to increase the tank capacity for Endurance race teams by slicing the tank and insertion a 20mm band to give 21 litres or a 30mm band to give 24 litres. They were affectionately nicknamed "the wedding cake tank"! There may be one or two left around if not...

Re: 25th Anniversary Meet up. 9th July National Motorcycle museum

Sorry guys but I am not able to attend this time. As I am awaiting heart surgery in three weeks time. My wife and I feel that it is too long a journey to undertake at this time. Have great meet up and keep the VTR Firestorm alive and well. Safe journey to you all

Re: Rear shock spacer

It is very important that the front forks have been properly tuned if you wish to fit spacers of 4mm or 6mm. This is a safety warning. If you would like to discuss this please contact me on 07970 915259.

Re: Oil filters

I always recommend that you use the OEM oil filters which are designed to work in conjunction with the oil pressure release valve. I consider it a worthwhile investment over the time span of oil filter usage. Two or three cups of coffee over a six month period? The very best oil for your VTR is Motu...

Re: Daft Question of the day

Do not use "Locktight" or similar product.
Spread some clear Silicone Sealant on the threads and that will stop them from falling out.
We always did this when fixing our race fairings on and never lost a bolt. :)

Re: FireStorm 25th anniversary?

The 20th anniversary at the National Motorcycle Museum was a great success. Good access and good facilities. A poll of owners intending to support the 25th event would be worthwhile as a number of long term owners no longer own VTRs.

Re: Rogered forks identification

These are definitely forks that I have upgraded. However, without seeing the compression valve I cannot say whether they are modified OEM or RaceTec Gold Seal valves. The fact that the seller mentioned the word "gold" it is likely that they are. I only fitted Gold seal valves to forks that...

Re: Front MCCT let go

Hi Jason,
You need to remove the head to evaluate the damage before you can make the decision to repair and replace. Also if the valves are badly bent you need to check for piston crown damage. If you want to discuss any other please ring me on 07970 915259 anytime.

Re: Velocity stacks

As the Moriwaki Importer for over thirty years I am certain that they never made a claim of a 4bhp to 5bhp power increase for their velocity stacks alone because it is an impossible claim. Moriwaki do not even make that claim for their special carbs fitted with their velocity stacks. The only claim ...
