I cleaned mine up with a fibre scouring pad and plenty of wd40 with the thinking that any paint you put on them is gonna chip off Didnt take that long really and although the shiny look does fade after a while the wd40 stops them going rusty and they turn a nice bronze colour (which happily matches ...

The only problem would be that teh seat unit sticks out quite a bit and isnt really flay so the panniers are resting on only a little bit However, if you apply plenty of gaffer tape beforehand they wont mark And some of that wonderweb stuff under them will stop them slipping about Best thing to do i...

also i get random cut outs at low revs.. not regular by any means.. usualy when sat at the lights or its just sat idleing when im warming her up before riding. Common fault on Storms, raise the tickover to 13-1400 RPM that'll fix it. Or better still get the carbs balanced -this is the usual cause f...

My twopence would be Get an aftermarket air filter On the VTR the airbox is too small and as a consequence the Storm fails to breathe properly I fitted a Pipercross and didnt rejet it for over a year. It ran OK and I consistently got 125 before RLOD out of a 16l tank and ran it dry at 153 miles (sti...

If it only runs with throttle open then its likely its running too rich? (or lean :? ) Whats the air filter like? What happens if you push the choke back in? Other possibility is that when you've had the tank off some muck has got dislodged and found its way into the carb But my gut feeling is vac p...

First task would be to remove it and have a look After all it is just a float on a stick with a variable resistor at the end Take it off, stick a multimeter across the terminals and verify they resistance changes as you move it Its more than likely that its got bent when being worked on ad now doesn...

Take one of the fork tops off CAREFULLY!!
Then remove the spacer and spring
If the springs have been replaced they should have a weight figure on them (0.95kg/mm will probably read 9.5 etc)
If there's nothing written on them then odds are they are standard

In order of price The £15 ones on ebay screw into the fairing mounts As these are made out of kit-kat wrappers the first thing they're gonna do in a crash is bend/ break so absolutely no use whatsoever Motrax ones bolt into the rear engine bolt and have a bracket to clear the fairing IMO they are t...

PVM?

I'm not 100% but I seem to recall people on another forum having great difficulty getting pads etc for these as a lot of the major retailkers (demon tweaks, M&P etc) had ceased dealing with them
Might be worth a check

Just wondered if it was just the casing that was bust so she could swap the internals over?

Or take them apart a bit and swap over just the odometer component

Ground clearance -the bane of my life with the Storm on track First I fitted high level exhausts Then I removed the hero blobs -not enough Then I ended up getting some M&P finest pegs and rather than mount them on the floppy bracket, I bolted them straight to the footrest hanger Voila, shorter f...

Or just tell the other half you're popping out for a bit and ride twice round the earth  Seriously though, you've want to record the mileage on your old clocks (with mot certificates to back it up) Then record the mileage on the new clocks when you swap them Then just go from there Alternativel...
