Exhaust question..sort of

Hi. I noticed that when i put my hand over the ends of the exhausts when the engine is running that one side i can feel hot gases and the other is cold which i thought was strange, the nearside being the hottest..Can anyone tell me if this is normal and if not what could be the cause of it. Thanks

how hot

Hi. Took the bike out. Got stuck in traffic in town and could feel bike getting hot. The fan didn't cut in and the temperature gauge wasn't right up but when I stopped the bike the frame was almost to hot to touch. Is this normal. Thanks.

Re: fitting high level cans

All sorted. Made a couple of offset brackets out of stainless and slid them up through the undertray and fixed them through the box section frame under the rear cowling. turned four ali spacers so all is good. Thanks for all your advice.

Re: fitting high level cans

thats the exhaust on but can't see and obvious place to fix the cans to. Do you have to make some sort of custom bracket and fix somewhere under the seat?

fitting high level cans

Hi.. I've just brought some high level link pipes and cans for my firestorm. I've got the offside can on although haven't figured out a way to fix it yet and it does touch the number plate plastic, but the near side link pipe won't go under the rear foot peg bracket, i can't even push it with force....

Re: Nightmare!!

If the valves were bent would the engine run at all? it makes that sound on start up but does sound ok once it starts apart from a slight humming noise when idling. its just this thing where it can just stop. I've just spoken to the dealer and he said he set the engine to top dead center and stuff.....

Re: Befflectomy !!

I have a set of standard cans and i've done the bafflectomy.. Its a lovely sound, much better than standard cans with baffles in. I'm actually going to be selling them in a week or so as i have after markets going on.

Petrol light.

Been riding my firestorm a few days now and thought i'd ask roughly how many miles would you get after the fuel light comes on. Also can you buy aftermarket fuel gauges for these bikes. cheers
