Re: Noisy chain

Yeah, the chain is a year old so it could have tight spots.

Noisy chain

My chain is making a sort of intermittent rubbing noise on something. Checked tension and it's got one inch of play which should be about right. It's well lubed. Anyone know the cause or know what it's rubbing on?

He'd gladly ride or drive 50 miles to help out a fellow storm rider. Devastated.

Re: Tyre traction in this hot weather

On the news of Vee dying at the weekend when his front tyre slipped on a tight bend, makes this thread all the more poigniant. Hot dry days can cause tyres to slip.

Benny Hedges has died on his bike. He will be missed.

So sad to hear of my mate Martin Vee Vtr (known on here as Benny Hedges) dying on his bike yesterday. Whenever I had a prob with my VTR he was always there for me. He is the friend who told me about this forum and rated everyone on it as sound guys. He lived local to me and loved his storm. His fron...

Josh Brookes in British Superbike (Spoiler!)

So good to see Josh Brookes win a British Superbike race today. He deserves it. He's had so many 2nd and 3rd spots this year.

Re: Tyre traction in this hot weather

Sometimes in winter I ride with slightly low pressure to give extra grip on frozen tarmac but I notice the reduction in acceleration even though it's only a few psi.

Re: Universal Honda Parts

I've seen a Kawasaki GPZ900 tank fitted to a storm. Don't know how he did it but it increased his capacity to 40L but in my opinion it didn't look right.

Re: The loud pipes argument

I do a lot of filtering through motorway jams to and from work every day and have noticed a difference. The cars part when I filter through but on the kwak they don't. I also get cut up more onthe kwak. Not noticed any difference though with cars that pull out at junctions on smaller roads. One of m...

Re: Tyre traction in this hot weather

Checked my tyre pressure and it was only 3 psi lower than it should be so don't think it's that. I think it's the tyres melting or the road surface being soft or both. I think the melting tyres is the most likely culprit as I've noticed most bikes in front of me leaving rubber marks on the road on c...

Re: There's more Anti-bikers in hot weather.

I agree with Seb, it's likely the frustration of being stuck in a hot car and seeing the bikers filter fast. I ride every day in all weather and have noticed more attitude in the car and van drivers. That guy this morning was bordering on road rage for no other reason than I was passing him.

The loud pipes argument

Been reading some of the stuff written on the internet opposing the 'Loud Pipes Save Lives' rule. Most of it is by non-bikers and use the word 'myth' constantly. One of the main arguments they have is that most of the noise from a bikes exhaust goes behind the bike anyway and so makes no difference ...
