yes I have had the rr failure...twice...mmmm, I fitted an R1 one it hardly heats up at all, probably cos of the size of the thing, i was just saying are we going a bit nuts about teeny improvements that we wont really notice, in 32 years of riding I have had 2 reg failures (both on this bike) with ...

Can I ask why is a mosfet one "better", is this just a cae of Platinum being better than Gold..I understand the basics of this but isnt this being a tad anal? Would anyone notice the difference, I suggest not.

There is some Jap website that did run offs on a 1/4 mile strip back in 2003, (on you tube) the vtr beat a blade and an r1 over a q4 mile, it was at that time the 9th fastest over a q4 mile proddy bike in the world. I had a gl1000 mark 1 goldwing that did this the left hand pipe used to rot cos all the water used to sit in there,tony.mon wrote:You'll also get more condensation on startup from the LHS because any condensate will collect on that side due to the bike leaning that way towards the sidestand.

dont use a car charger they will fry your battery, use no more than a 4ah charger, preferably a 1ah charger like a optimate or similar, these actually condition your battery car chargers charge ok but will wear the battery out much faster.

before you get another battery stick it on an optimate 3/4 give it a couple of sequences of charging 2 x 48 hours they are good at bringing them back to life with the desulfication thingywotsit.

I checked the main fuse and it looked ok, but ill check again tonight as it sounds like this is what has happened, thanks guys! :thumbup: ill keep you informed! if the main fuse has gone it most likely will be the reg, dont restart the bike as your either likely to blow the fuse again or the reg wi...
