Red Storm at Hayle, Cornwall

Saw a nice red one at a bike meet at Hayle McDonalds this evening. Lovely red paint, Scorpion exhausts, yellow headlight protector, purple shock spring, s.s. allen engine bolts. I spent hours cleaning my blue Storm this afternoon and this one put it to shame (the paint on my forks really lets it dow...

You will find the engine turns over easier if you remove the spark plugs.
I did have the spark plugs out, but the wheel was still very difficult to turn. I'll give it another go at the weekend.

Re: How do I set up the carbs?

There was a guy on here did the very same thing as you and he set the bike in 6th gear and rotated the engine by using the wheel. A risky proposition imho but doable. I bought a set of paddock stands with the very same idea in mind. I put the bike in 6th, but turning the wheel by hand proved to be ...

Re: Manual CCT's for sale.

yes and of course the first 3 hours of the video will detail how to make a hexagonal hole perfectly round using only cheese metal and an allen key and subsequent removal of cheese metal plug through other means. the last 10 minutes will be the actual cct section  This now applies to me. I can'...

Re: How do I set up the carbs?

. Also, some muppet had swapped the needles. Cheers guys. Ah, you have the carbs on the wrong way round. not. For a moment, I didn't see the "not" and almost believed you  Also, a little bit of steam ejected from my ears. Got the carbs back on my bike, installed hoses for my Ca...

Re: How do I set up the carbs?

If you're not sure about washer thickness, just go to a dealer with a dyno and buy some there. They'll have the right sort of thing. I managed to find some steel M3 washers at Screwfix. They fit nicely and are a shade over 0.5mm thick. Going by the Superhawk forums' guide, I removed the stock washe...

Re: How do I set up the carbs?

@cybercarl, I never thought your response was flippant, and that link is a good read - definitely the way to go if you want to extract the best performance. I'm just too lazy to follow that guide and I also want to ensure my bike is rideable throughout the summer, so I think I'll keep the fueling mo...

Connecting hose permanently for carb balancing

Hi guys. When the weather clears up I'll be balancing the carbs and I want to permanently attach hoses to the bike in order to make it a simple process in the future. I've read the guide in the knowledgebase and am in the process of buying the parts I need. I noticed the take-off point on the front ...

Re: How do I set up the carbs?

Has anyone here followed the above guide? I just need some clarification on a couple of things. If I understand correctly, I need to raise the needles 0.04'' (1.016mm) above stock setting, then remove the stock washer on the front carb needle (leaving the new washer in place) so that it is slightly ...

How do I set up the carbs?

Hi everyone. As far as I know, the only mod to the fueling system on my '99 Firestorm is a set of Fuel "silencers". Basically, I want to improve the ride as it's a bit "lumpy" at low cruising speeds and backfires (I'm not sure if this is the correct term) considerably when slowin...
