Re: Read only probs!!!
Simple answer, Get a Mac.  No seriously, I don't know much about PC's but I highly suspect it's going to be a permissions problem. Something along the lines of http://www.ehow.com/how_5770266_change-access-privileges-permissions-computer.html Have you tried creating another (clean) user a...

Re: How to balance your carbs
Where about's in the vacuum tube for rear cylinder have you cut it to put the T-Piece in. Just curious as I would like somewhere that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye and does not get in the way of tank removal. It's also got to be convenient for the vacuum hose (to attach to carbtune) that runs...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
My K&N Filter turned up this morning, so fitted new plugs and filter. While I was at it I took the airbox right off and had good look at the carbs (visually) and all the other bits I could not see. This was the first time I had the airbox off! I then fiited fitted a brass screw in the vacuum hol...

Micron Exhaust Bafflectomy
I have Micron Road legal exhausts on my bike with allen key bolts on the outlet pipe to remove the tubes. http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j476/cybercarl0/VTR1000%20forum/DSC00533.jpg Took a tube off one of my Microns today thinking I could remove the baffles, wadding or something to give them mo...

Re: Acumen Dg8 gear indicator
I agree that is expensive. At that price you could have one that has the voltmeter built in. Now that would be useful as you could monitor your RR, as it could give you early warning of a failure.

Re: make sure you have a full tank of petrol
Just got back from a ride across town and it's shocking how many petrol stations have run out of all fuel. The panic buying is causing chaos, before there is even a petrol strike if there is one.

Micron Exhausts, Not sure if they are road legal or BS stamped though. They do appear to have baffles in, whether they are removable I don't know.

Re: BSM's project.....UPDATE
i should be mot-ing it tomorrow, lets just hope they pass i'm not confident tho, fingers crossed.... That will depend on who's MOTing it. They will have to turn a blind eye to the exhausts. Lets hope it's one of those old school MOT setups and they don't stick a Decibel meter over the cans, and I s...

Thanks for that that Benny. We all know (I hope) about the diesel, especially after a bit of rain. But it's nice to have that gentle reminder. It's too easy to forget these things and go flying into the petrol station and almost drop our bikes. stupid thing about panic buying - if people j...

Re: make sure you have a full tank of petrol
Latest news is that the knob head politicians have said the wrong thing and pushed people into already panic buying. But as Tony.Mon mentioned on another thread, along the lines of, It does not stop us bikers jumping the queue.
