Re: Tonight's rain, Thursday night

chucking it down here in sunny bradford. Lovely, saves me washing the car :) :)

but no fun on the bike, although I did see a hardy biker on a c90 overtaking all the straggling traffic 8)

Re: Anyone use a bike mover

Welcome home Ta Mr Mon, feels like putting on an old pair of slippers after a long, sweaty slog upstairs. Decorating the bedroom can be very arduous, especially if your equipment has gone all stiff due to a bad cleaining regime and the lumps in your paste won't even thrash out with a decent hammeri...

Re: Anyone use a bike mover

  You should fit into this forum very nicely.  Reminds me of a certain Tankslapper with posts like that. (:-}) Cheers Carl Flatline, aka The Roadsweeper, taught me everything I know :p He's been a very bad influence in my life for too many years to admit to....... If ...

Re: Anyone use a bike mover

fair point, but I was only thinking she could move it a bit to get to her stuff. still be useful for me to get it in at the back.I've emailed them for more info. thanks for the feedback :) What would she be doing putting cooking utensils behind your bike for??? On the other hand, if she lets you in...

Re: Anyone use a bike mover

A problem with these is that I found you need a very smooth floor surface like that laminate shown in the video. rough concrete, paving slab joints ect would be a nightmare. +1 on that. Also all it is, is a glorified paddock stand which are not the most stable thing's in the first place. And like i...

Re: Anyone use a bike mover

You can just lean it on the sidestand and spin it round, lifting both wheels off the ground. But not on Tarmac..... Cheers Tony, seen that on ootube, but just fancied this for me and maybe even the wife, so she can move it about in the garage. I'm not just addicted to buying gear, really I''m not :...

Re: Anyone use a bike mover

GET A STORM FIRST!!! Then we can discuss it    Thanks for that, only been out with you a few times, but already I almost have enough bits for a whole bike :D cheers Stratman, will have a think about that, but as Flatty knows my mechanical skills are pretty naff and he won't make me o...

Anyone use a bike mover

Hi there I'm thinking of one of these to help get the bike in and out of a small garage. Not got a storm yet, but working on it :D http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=902816 Anyone got one/used one? Is there a cheaper alternative? I've seen the disc type, but I'd prefer a paddock stand ve...

Re: Hi there

Chris, you're a braver man than me, or maybe just a bit longer in the legs and arms. :) I'm sorted now. I've agreed to buy a honda cb400 superfour that Flatline took me to see which has made itself available at the right price. Thanks Flatty, now just got to raise some extra cash to cover his excess...

Re: Hi there

Thanks guys for making me feel so welcome, despite my association with Flatline. :D I'm not a speed junky, so something with an upright position and not too wide will help me gain my confidence. I'll never be a racer, I'm at that age when I'm happy to take it easy and gain my experience as safely as...

Re: Hi there

hi there lumpyv. I'm looking at a 400/500 to get me back into riding a bike. I passed my test in 96 and had an old gs550 custom for a while, but it wasn't very inspiring so I gave up. Now Flatline has got me all interested again. So I thought a smaller naked style, street bike would get me back in t...

Hi there

Hi I'm just getting back into biking, looking for a starter bike. My mate, Flatline, has a silver Firestorm and it's a bike I'm hoping to work my way up to. I'm based in Leeds. Flatline has told me some nice things about the community on here, so I thought I'd join up and meet you all myself. I hope...
