Re: Lloydie's track vtr (miss piggy)

The gap in the tank that is up front on the Storm tank where ram air would fit through on the mori bikes. On this one you have a great big gap towards the rear. You can even see the Red cam cover. It's a bit like when people put VFR800 tanks on, you get gaps at the rear. my road bike with all the f...

Re: Lloydie's track vtr (miss piggy)

regarding front forks, get the best possible on track. As I´ve never have problem on street, I feel lack of confidence on track with reworked and braced storm forks, when on brakes. I wonder if old blade 43mm forks can cure it.

Re: Red Storm

lloydie: to get these discs and sprocket is not a problem, but it´s still pricey (as any other new discs and sprocket). As I said, full front with light wheel probably makes more sense - like some 3 spoke from new CBR600RR, rear can stay. On the other side, I agree, looks good :-) But honestly, on k...

Re: Red Storm

I also put Dr Honda stacks and went one size down on the main jets, to 178 and 180, but don´t have it dynoed yet. There was noticeable gain on 4-5 rpm.

Re: Red Storm

wheel are yours :-), T675 Daytona. To see full picture, conversion was a bit difficult. Custom sprocket and brake discs, 5mm spacer under sprocket and machined rear brake holder, wheel spacers. Good is you don´t need to do anything with axles, bearings are the same. If I do it again, I´d change whol...

8541Hawk: in fact alu Leo Vinces are one of the cheapest we can buy here :-) Once when I´ll get really upset with the loud arrows, or won´t pass MOT, I will buy them and fit to arrow pipes.

Re: new pics

no lower.... I like the uncluttered look like this (have a carbon protector over the oil filter to prevent puncture by rocks,....). having the bottom end exposed to the air seems to help with cooling too...... this is the second bike without lower I like (together with 8541Hawk). Maybe front pipe i...

Re: So what do you guys think.....

Nice, but I must say red would be even better :-). Lighter wheels could be the next mod. I did this year, and saved 0,78 kg (1,72 lb) on front and 1,57 kg (3,46 lb) on rear.

bearings, brake discs, and spacers, are the same for VTR1000F and VFR 94-97, CBR600F3 as well, you can verify this. No offense ... :-)
