Re: Regulator / Rectifier Modification

Cheers for that fellas. I've already cut the old connector of and stripped the wires back to good stuff. Also soldered the ends in prep for joining. Hopefully the modification works. Fingers crossed. Cheers again. :D

Re: Regulator / Rectifier Modification

Would this modification be ok on the 2004 model. There is no separate earth wire, it's all in the block connector. I've just got home from a four day trip and think mine is fried. Wires burnt and battery goosed.

Re: Rear suspension linkages

Cheers for all that fella's. Good old fashioned lump hammer and drift sorted the problem Bearings were totally shot and were replaced. Got them from a local place, much cheapness complete with new seals. I a now looking at how to manufacture some sort of heat shield to deflect heat away from the low...

Re: Funny scredching on start up

Cheers fellas. I have had manual CCT fitted for over a year and never had any problems thus far. If they are to tight whats the recommended amount to loosen them off by. Started the bike up yesterday with no problems at all.

Funny scredching on start up

Just finished a whole load of winter maintenance which included new wheel bearings all round, new stanchions and the rear sub frame powder coated. Took the bike for its MOT yesterday and all was well. Went to start it to ride it into the MOT centre and there was a funny screeching noise. Initially i...

Thanks for all the tips fellas, problem now solved. Exhaust seal from the rear down pipe into the collector box had disappeared. New ones fitted all round and it runs sweet as a nut.

Cheers

Front Fork stanchions

Just doing some winter maintenance on my 2004 model and imagine my surprise after removing my forks to have the bottom sliders put in for powder coating and replace the oil and seals to find that one of my upper stanchions is bloody bent. The question is, would replacing the bent one only be ok or w...

Engine backfire

Just been on a tour of Austria and Southern Germany, over 2000 miles and my 04 bike didn't miss a heart beat. Went out today for the first time since being home and my bike has developed a backfire on decelleration. Its not happening everytime only when I close the throttle fully when doing about 70...

Re: Going to attempt Changing my CCT's to manuals!!

Hi

I did mine myself 5 weeks ago and it is really not that difficult. The worst part of the job was making the small locking pin that is described in the haynes manual. Go on give it a go with the tips on here
