Re: Sluggish throttle response under 4000rpm
Thanks for your help on this, and the photos too. I managed to make my own tool from an old screwdriver and the vice, but I think I might invest in the real tool, as its still not quite right. I also worked out I'm running on about 25 mpg, so something isn't right.

Re: Sluggish throttle response under 4000rpm
Thanks for the info, is there a particular thickness of foam I should look for? As for the carbs/choke, the choke seems nomal as there is an obvious difference when pulled out and put back in. I have stumbled accross your excellent thread on the fuel mixture screw, I have seen the tools etc for it, ...

Re: Sluggish throttle response under 4000rpm
No I have vacuumed the dirt out of it a while ago but not oiled it, the 2 small odd shaped holes under the main filter are missing their mini filters, but I can't recall them ever being there.cybercarl wrote:Have you recently over oiled an airfilter by any chance.![]()

Sluggish throttle response under 4000rpm
Can anyone help? When up to temp, whether its in neutral at idle, pulling away or accelerating in any gear under 3-4000 rpm the throttle response is sluggish or very laboured, and the engine judders violently if I go to open it up quickly. I have to make very gradual throttle movements to pull away ...
Re: new one
That's what I get for staying signed in at work. Lesson learned. I'm more than happy with my storm. needs some servicing now though. How straight forward is adjusting manual cct's and tappets and valve clearances with my trusty Haynes?

Re: race bike donations...
I've got some race cans with big bore link pipes, they are welded to the cans though. I will sort out posting a picture if you want. The cans are unbranded and very loud, but do have addable baffles  I've had them on for a while but they're just too loud for my commute which i'm using my storm...

That's mine, (it was vtrkidda's) you must have caught me on a dirt day, as its normally very clean. I joined the forum a while a go, just not on here very often.

Re: After a good rucksack for bike
Nice one thanks, I'm getting a bit desperate running low on ideas. Will the bike run ok without the exhausts on?

Re: Clicking/metallic sound engine off
Much to my relief that metallic clicking sound was two little bolts inside the sub frame, unscrewed a few things and tipped it upside down and they fell out. Whilst its all off the rear shock will get checked too. Now just need to get those sheared exhaust bolts out of my engine.

Re: After a good rucksack for bike
The backpack arrived today, real smart design and lightweight too. Might not be as hard wearing as the kriga stuff but for £18 delivered it will be great for all types of events. Thanks for the recommendation  Glad you like it, it sits very nice at high speeds, don't know why I didn't get ...

HELP I've broken it!
As the weather is begining to turn colder now I thought I'd get my vtr ready for winter and check it over, also still trying to find out what the metallic click/rattle is when it is leaned side to side. I've decided to strip every thing off from fairing to exhausts so I can clean and protect parts. ...

Re: After a good rucksack for bike
Have a look on google (other search engines are available) for "Exped Cloudburst" I use a 25 litre one for commuting. It's a roll top dry bag with straps and nothing flaps about. Its a good size to get plenty of lunch in :Beer Popcorn: , and keeps everything dry. If you want a bomb proof o...
