your textile armoured bike jacket is ideal to snowboard in
i know this is an odd comment but i am arranging my week in the Alps for next year. For years i have worn my armoured textile bike jacket for skiing and snowboarding. it's much warmer than a ski jacket, much tougher, and they are cheaper than a ski jacket, even a ski jacket without armour. this is b...

Spot on about front end I am down 10 mm springs same as you. I tried 10mm at back, too harsh for me, perhaps gearing you had suits better. I have a Penske shock.

Re: Some thoughts on racing a vtr in 2013
yes some good points. I never raced at pembrey or Mallory so I never found a circuit I used first other than the start, where I did find keeping the front down a problem. I ran this gearing at snetterton and it was ideal for the long straight and also for donington. the bike just hit 9000 rpm in top...

Some thoughts on racing a vtr in 2013
Yes in 2013 you can find a series or two to race them in. I did this year. I have never ridden a vtr on the road much, but in general: The bike is very overgeared. One down at the front and two up at the back and they really pull out of corners. This and a quick action throttle would before you do a...

Re: 16l tank fuel economy?
I have been running a race vtr with moriwaki cams, exhaust and lowered (1 tooth up front 45 at the back) gearing. It has a quick action throttle. It was doing under 20 mpg at donington....

my apologies for putting my bike up for sale
I could not contact the admin, so this is the best I can do.
I did not read the small print about selling the bike so the post has been removed - fair enough and I apologise.
I only have 10 posts so sorry.
no malice intended

Re: Track day - ** UPDATED **
Oh yes - noise. You will be tested. One day your bike will be 99 the next place/time 101...... Most places put a limit on 102db occasionally 105. If you have baffles in and pass they will put a 'B' on your sticker. If you get pulled up with no baffles in you will be sent home if you are obviously no...

Re: Track day -
I race a Minitwin, but fancied an extra class now and then. I Built up a vtr over the winter to enter now and then. I raced it at oulton (without a steering damper) - would not advise! I Was not quick.Only other meeting I did this year was with it was NG and entered it in 1300 pre injection got a 2n...

Re: How much power from a set of moriwaki stage 1 cams
thanks everyone, i dynoed it on the BMCRC dyno today and i am a little over 105hp, so i shall put some baffles in the end cans, run it on standard unleaded and that should just get me below 105hp. i suspect the engine's a bit worn, but no point doing much about it. i have managed to get the weight d...

How much power from a set of moriwaki stage 1 cams
I am building up a vtr for a race series where there are power/weight rules. Forgetting everything else, how much extra horsepower do you get? I appreciate most people would know the difference between standard and cams plus filter plus exhaust as opposed to cams alone. I suspect about 7 horsepower,...

Anyone got a set of footrests etc.
I have a set of Harris rearsets on my vtr race bike and want a spare set in case of a spill. I was going to use a standard set modified. Anyone got a standard set inc. everything except master cylinder at a decent price?
