fireblade brace

I have got a swing arm brace from a fireblade to fit to the vtr swing arm but the rear caliper hits it do you have to fit the blade caliper bracket or is their another mod to get it to fit , cheers in advance

Yep the longest springs you will find. :lol: When refitting, push the spring back into the centre of the cap, hold over as close as you can to the carb and let it go, being careful that the spring don't spring back out. You will have 180 Dyno jets fitted . Standard are 175 and 178 . +1 You may want to check the slides and see if they have the extra lift hole. If you have a full dynojet kit then the needles will also be adjustable and have 6 slots. (:-}) 3 holes in the slides and the longest spring I have ever seen...

hum its also got a k & n fitted so properly been jetted then , ok so that's ok then 180 mains :) thanks for the info guys

jet sizes

I have been stripping my bike down for a winter clean up and I removed the carbs and found both jets are 180's front and rear is this correct I thought it was supposed to be different in both of them and would this explain why it don't pull top gear holds back at about 140 ish :confused

I have noticed it is better if you short shift , still used to 4 cylinder I suppose no need to run out 1st then change when you can short shift with the torque you have on these :twisted:

2nd gear

do all vrt's suffer from a clunky second gear , never jumps out of gear just a clunk when you go into 2nd my two mates have vtr's and theirs also does it :(

hum interesting , :think: I was going to have the cam sprockets slotted and timed up and some porting done , so might be a idea to do this mod at the same time , :D

hi all

well i have entered the world of the v twin , just got rid of my zx12r and got a 98 vtr with 17,000 on the clock , nice set of cans on it , what a noise love it lol , love the torque , i may track it yet :twisted:
