This topic has got me interested...
I get a 'ticking/rattling' while setting off and engine is under load. If you ride it like an old man then you can't hear it. Could this be the clutch as well?

Just a quick update... I've up'd the idle speed to 1300 and its not cut out since, it nearly did once but it revived itself. I definitely need the carbs balancing and tuning but need to grow some confidence balls to tackle it.

Welcome to the site m8, I too am a newbie to storms and have to say loving everything about them. I've heard so many stories about the cct's so it's recommend you change to manuals as soon as poss.
