Re: help think ive got a goosed engine

It could be engine pinking/pinging your hearing considering your other issue with the carbs. You may be running a little lean. Or ignition timing (not to be confused with cam timing) is too far advanced which the TPS contributes too especially at lower revs. You would also get this noise if your ch...

Re: help think ive got a goosed engine

Careful not to get confused with the slight rattle that is always there. You hear it more with the clutch out, but when you pull the lever in it's not so bad. They all do this. Re: help think ive got a goosed engine

This topic has got me interested...
I get a 'ticking/rattling' while setting off and engine is under load. If you ride it like an old man then you can't hear it. Could this be the clutch as well? :confused

Re: Engine cut out problem

Just a quick update... I've up'd the idle speed to 1300 and its not cut out since, it nearly did once but it revived itself. I definitely need the carbs balancing and tuning but need to grow some confidence balls to tackle it.

Re: Engine cut out problem

Thanks very much for all of your advice.
I'm not too confident with adjusting the TPS yet, so I'll have to get someone more competent to adjust it for me. Again, thanks

Engine cut out problem

Hi everyone. I wondered if you could help me, during my cumute from work through a busy town centre (traffic nose to tail) I'm going through the middle of all the traffic at slow speed and my bike cuts out when the throttle is closed (when coming to a halt). It restarts with no problem and off I go ...

Re: why have vtr's been kept secret from me !!

Welcome to the site m8, I too am a newbie to storms and have to say loving everything about them. I've heard so many stories about the cct's so it's recommend you change to manuals as soon as poss.
Enjoy the site m8
