what a good do... followed the guidance of you good folk on here and re-timed it...must have been like this when i got it, funny how you always think its something you have done yourself anyhow- runs like a dream right to the red line, now i know why you rave about these bikes :D cheers for the help...

Not had the bike long and it had just had a replacement front head fitted by an unknown engineer who is not familiar with storms (said he followed the haynes manual). I fitted MCCT yesterday and am 100% certain that the cams have not moved, it will still not rev past 7000 in use although it runs wel...

Thanks for the help folks....

Stick coils fitted running nicely on both pots, need to find time for the manual CCTs now.

Done the plugs...think i might try the stick coil mod.

Has anyone got any info on this, which coils to use and any adaptations needed etc?

Annoying misfire

Just got the bike 1999 24,000 miles had front head recently replaced due to CCT failure, this is as much history i have got for it. Bought it at a good price as it has an intermittant misfire on the rear cylinder, there seems to no telling when it may happen sometimes at tickover runs on 1 other tim...

No it wasn't...got the bike on the cheap already knowing of the misfire issues.

Lots of similar type symptoms already in workshop areas, will start work on it when time allows hopefully next week.

Just got my first V twin, 1999, red, 24000 mile,s very tidy and running like a pig!! Had new front head after the dreaded CCT failure, been fixed apparently but its now misfiring on the rear cylinder, could be something simple as i'm sure it has had no set up time since the repairs.
