Re: 1997 VTR £1500

Oh! yes I really do love it but it'll just collect dust in the garage and it deserves to be ridden. Things I omitted from above :- Braided hoses , new Regulator Rectifier, Carbon Hugger, and I have refitted the oil filter cover undertray thingy ( well you can't call it a belly pan can you). Also it ...

Re: 1997 VTR £1500

Just for you Wicky I'll take more shots and post em up.
Maybe a little delay as I've got a touch of sciatica (it's a pain in the backside).

New screen and new hat

Screen was a bit tired and a bit cracked ( well being mine it would be) and I didn't have a hat to match the bike . Hmmm what goes with white wheels? https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3910/14387318409_eee40258d0.jpg Flip Screen from M&P £46 and Shark lid from Helmet City £180 That little upward cur...

Re: White Wheels !

It's direct wind blast from the screen. I am looking for a new screen anyway as the one fitted has crazed on the inside.
I need a screen that is as long but also has a deflector on the top edge to kick the airflow over my helmet.
Any suggestions????

I ride with an AGV Skyline.

White Wheels !

https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3858/14387890223_7d5f05114c.jpg The Wheels were a bit grotty and I had little faith they could replicate the colour so I had the wheels powder coated white and Carl Harrison (of Harleston) fitted new bearings and Pirelli Tyres. As the sun was out and the roads drying ...

Re: spot the bike

I know I'm a slow old fart but what I took from the photo is this: If I came over a humped bridge like this I'd probably want to have the slow sign in the road on the approach side of the bridge. I'd probably be landing on the sign in it's current position. Although looking again the photo might wel...

It's so easy to bash on with a little job and forget the hazards.
Hope you feel better soon.

Re: 2nd rider dies in IOM - RIP

I did know of Bob Price before the tragic news of his passing but he was a year younger than me and there is no good time to go. Karl Harris was, like Simon Andrews, bestowed with more bravery than luck. I mourn their passing and try to not feel guilty for my continuing attendance at race meetings a...

Re: A rare Bike.

Old Bike with low mileage sounds good but check out the tyres. I think there's a recommended maximum age ( I can't recall what it is). My recently acquired bike, a 97 model with 10500 on the clock, had 2005 Bridgestones. Rock hard and a bit too squirmy.

Re: which boots ??

I bought a pair of Daytona boots in 2003. They cost £175. That's about £17.50 per year. They are very comfortable on and off the bike but probably not very crash protective. I still wear them and they are still warm and waterproof. I bought some replacement Daytona boots two years ago and found I co...

Normal Temperature?

I took the bike out for it's first run since fitting manual CCTs. Only the second time I have ridden it. Did about 30 miles and noticed Temp Gauge barely moved off 'cold'. Is this normal?

Re: What do these do and where to they go

The red blotches are just a few dabs to cover the bare metal I'll touch it up with black in a few days just to look a bit less scruffy. I am torn between retaining original colours or ???? something else I don't know what yet. I was thinking Gold Swing Arm and fork lowers and White Wheels. And then ...

Yellow really yellow

Sunday 16th at about 1pm - Yellow storm parked with one other by a roundabout on the Norwich to Yarmouth road. It did look gorgeous though.
