Re: Head bearings adjustment
All done! Thanks for all the help guys. didn't need much adjustment but now have no slack and just the right resistance / flow lock to lock, when off the floor.
Will road test tomorrow, weather permitting!
Cheers!

Re: Head bearings adjustment
Thanks Mac, the previous owner has just e mailed me back and confirmed he DID replace them ...with tapers! He was a Canadian Honda motorcycle dealer and this was his personal bike for 13 years so no doubt he did a thorough job! I guess it's just a case of lifting the top yoke, taking up the slack on...

Re: Head bearings adjustment
Forgot to say the garage that crated my bike up to ship it back from Canada adjusted them as a favour...hence why I didn't adjust them myself in the first place! But I like doing my own maintenance if poss...

Re: Head bearings adjustment
Thanks all...I'll e mail the previous owner and ask if / what he did with the bearings up to now. Bike is at 30,000 miles and I have had them adjusted once in the four years I've owned it.
Good info, appreciated! I'll report back...

Head bearings adjustment
Had an advisory that the steering head bearings need adjustment...not done this before so looking on the forum I found the usual great advice. Question is, for adjustment only (not replacement), it looks like I just raise the clip ons and raise up the top yoke? I usually put blankets etc over the ta...

Motul Oil from Opie
Ordered my Motul oil from Opie for the Storm's winter lay up. Noticed that if I just jump on to their website there was a delivery charge of £4.99. Same product from Opie on E Bay, free delivery . Bought it on from Opie on E Bay, arrived in 2 days. Always a good price from Opie, saved £4.99 on the d...

I loved the CB72s!! I had a CB250K0 for a couple of years as a teenager and thought it was the dogs! I remember I paid £249 for a 6 month old bike! Just crazy money now though!

Re: My Dream project...
My only hang up is the black pin stripping on the tank. It seems to not follow the tank's lines. But, that may just be the picture angle skewing things. Otherwise, absolutely fantastic job on the whole bike. I love it! :D How did you make that chain gaurd? Laser cut or waterjet? How was that 90 deg...

How did you make that chain gaurd? Laser cut or waterjet? How was that 90 degree angle bent so cleanly? i'm also interested in how you did this only because its such a tidy bit of work  i am thinking it was L shaped bar, if not you are a magician with the bending machine It's just a piece ...

Re: Rear brake, why is it there?
Been riding since 1971, on and off road. Moved to Canada in 2002 (stayed until 2014) and had to re-take my bike test, which involved lots of theory and observed road riding. But actually, it was a really good experience , and as we all know, you never stop learning and can always improve! I had a Ka...

Pictures don't always tell a thousand words. It's all an illusion. Love the close up pics by the way  Latest addition...custom made chain guard...just hate the plastic original!! :cool2 http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e12/pembrooke1/20161116_152116_zpsyx9uhz34.jpg http://i36.photo...
