Re: VTR Down Under

As for The Battle of the Bars, it all started due to my height. I want the levers further down, further than the axial m/c allows. This led to the Convertibars. But due to the extra height, the clutch reservoir fouls inside the fairing. So that brings on a radial setup, where I can crank the levers...

Re: Leaking Manual CCT

Another fix you might consider that worked for me, is to loosen just the lock nut, don't let the tension screw move, wrap the tension screw with a half width of teflon tape. Use enough wraps to get a build up just above the face of the tensioner body. Then tighten the nut down. This compresses the t...

Re: best ways to prevent bike theft?.

The little scumbags are often seen riding round Watford with no visible number plate and police don't seem to do anything about it. One would hope that there is some sort of happy medium between in the US a driver getting murdered by police for a burned out tail light and the free-for-all that seem...

Re: My first VTR and How I May Have Made a Big Mistake...

The coolant leak you're having might be from the radiator reserve tank. My was leaking from split in the seam. Though mine only leaked on the right side of the bike, so maybe not in your case.

Re: My first VTR and How I May Have Made a Big Mistake...

Thanks for the info, I've never seen it before so excuse my stupidity!! Maybe 'eatpasta' you could buy one of the European tail lights with the tag light built in? That is exactly what I did. Found one on UK ebay (took months to arrive). With the Storm tail light and hacking off the ugly square fen...

Re: Engine problems - due to heat?

Do you still have the stock R/R? When it starts to go bad, strange and random symptoms occur. Check battery voltage at rest and when running at start of day and then when you arrive home or when running poorly.

Re: My first VTR and How I May Have Made a Big Mistake...

US market bikes have separate license plate light (hideous). The tail light is blacked out where (most?) other market bikes have a clear section to allow illumination of the tags.

Re: Halfords battery charger fire

brother came home to find his Sony TV smoking away one night.. Did Sony share some? Maybe that's a signal to start looking for certified/tested lable by a reputable lab (in the US it would be Underwriters Lab). I'm guessing that the UK has equivalent or better. If I have my info correct, electrical...

What makes you think that isn't a Chinese made charger? Point of purchase means little anymore.

With a lot more humility and appreciation for the people who put me where I had been, the people who paid money for my records, for people who paid money to come and see me play, for people who had adoration for what I done. ( if I was a rock star ). Very admirable of you. Easy for you to judge som...

my experience of him is not as good, years ago on holiday over 20 years, he was playing, when he finished he sat in a chair with his arms folded, now remember hes career is pretty much finished legend or not, his " fans " were walking up to meet him and to try and get his autograph, he to...
