If you're talking about the plastic trim clips just use a box cutter and cut the heads off. They're cheap and easy to replace.
Next time I have my rear fairing off I'm replacing mine with steel trim/panel clips.

At that point Window$ is looking for specific hardware drivers for your machine. They will be on your PC's recovery disks if you have them but most likely on a hidden partition on the original HDD. Make sure the overflow tubes from the carbies are not pinched off and are pointing down. I'd also double check the diaphrams as they were causing my surge issue even though they werent cracked or anything obvious after spending hunderds and hundreds on the bike a new diaphram would have fixed it for...
