Re: New fork seals

Thanks for the prompt replies gents. Honda parts will, of course, work. I was just curious about good alternatives that may be a little cheaper.

New fork seals

I'm sure this topic will have been been covered....but I can't find it when I search the forum. So, what are the recomendations when it comes to new fork seals and bushes? Honda genuine parts or are after market suppliers such as Slinky Glides (as supplied by Wemoto), worth a try? Are there any bran...

Re: After market screens

Hi KermitLeFrog. Thanks for advice re ear plugs. I don't think I've been using the correct technique for the foam plugs. I'll experiment some more. Stupid things always seem to fall out. Interesting that cold water diving has narrowed your ear canals - I've heard that is a problem for surfers in col...

Re: After market screens

Hi MacV2. Just had a look at the Windjammer Proline and it seems like a great idea. I haven't seen this before. The concern I have here in QLD is how hot it might get. Riding in 32C heat with 80% humidity in summer is not unusual (but always uncomfortable at slow speeds) and I usually wear a mesh te...

Re: After market screens

Thanks for the advice and links guys. I have trouble getting ear plugs to fit and stay in as I have narrow ear canals. I've always had very good hearing up to now, even though I'm ancient, but the damage has been done. I'll have to try some different plugs until I get it right. The MRA X Screen Spor...

After market screens

So I've fitted the Top Yokes kit and Renthal Ultra Low Superbike bars to my 2006 F6 Storm. The good news is the riding position has been transformed, the bike is much more fun a low speeds and the bars are very well damped - no nasty vibes. Later type rectangular clutch reservoir just touches trimme...

Can standard bar ends be used with Renthal bars...and other questions!

I've got a CNC Topyokes kit on order for my 2006 VTR and I intend fitting Renthal Superbike Ultra Low bars. So, a few questions: 1. Do the Ultra Low bars clear the tank without problems? I realise that the fairing will need some trimming. 2. Will I be able to re-use the standard bar ends in the Rent...

Hi bsabloke
Just like to thank you for the mirror extenders. They look like a factory part - well done. Tested to 200 kph without a problem.

Starter motor groaning on hot start

I have a strange groaning noise coming from the starter motor on hot start only. The motor still turns the engine over (reluctantly) and it starts OK. It sounds like it is struggling with an additional load. This has happened after my local mechanic (who is very experienced and builds race engines) ...

Re: Fitting a mini Bi-xenon HID projector

Thanks for the words of wisdom, Diabolus.

I may try the US Superhawk forum and see what the experience is there regarding any reduced reliability / durability, as I think US bikes have headlamp wired permanently on, same as here.

Re: Fitting a mini Bi-xenon HID projector

Hi Diabolus I know this an old topic, but I've just bought a 2006 VTR and I find the headlamp very poor. Your link to ebay shows the HID projector kit that you bought is a 2” diameter type. 2.5" and 3" diameter units are now also available on this site. Do you reckon a larger 2.5" or ...
