Re: Misbehaving clutch
I've experienced this a couple of times recently. Once when nipping in front of a van which caused the bike to lurch embarrassingly and earlier today when I was thrashing it a bit more. Clunky gear changes are becoming rarer I think though

Re: Hello from new member Mike TW9
Took her for my best blast yet round Box Hill and Leith Hill today and am staring to feel comfortable with opening up a bit, dialling in a few revs and slipping the clutch, awesome! Laughing out loud to myself at times Still not done a ton though

Re: Fuel leak from below carbs, Help !
Ok, so after a good run today I parked up with the tank almost empty and the drip was worse, up to one every second. It seems to be coming from a metal fuel connector thing just beneath the rear of the tank on the LHS as you sit on the bike. Any ideas?

And have now got a socket wrench handle capable of dealing with the rear axle nut. But could still do with a paddock stand / one of them Abba things

Re: Fuel leak from below carbs, Help !
A few times after putting the bike on the stand I've noticed smoke coming up from the exhaust pipe where it runs in front of the rear wheel. Definitely not a hole in the pipe. Seems to be a drip of fuel landing on it, coming off a plastic or rubber flappy bit (for want of a more technical term) some...

Re: reading the speedo on a late model bike
A digression from the main topic but... My understanding is that, if you do over 100mph or double the speed limit its a 6 rather than 3 point offence, which means you have to appear in court, and the magistrate must consider a ban, but doesn't have to. I happen to be fairly well informed about this ...

Full marks with the MOT Agent P! Ain't even seen my baby today and didn't exactly do anything to her yesterday, but did have a short morning blat to buy her a present off Gum Tree. I went for an Oxford tank bag but then he produced a Caberg flip top helmet with built in sun visor that fits pe...

Re: Full to empty-
With a 16 litre tank and a lot of people reporting c. 80 miles before the light comes on, that should mean c. 20 miles in reserve.

Re: Full to empty-
I'd say about 3 litres, cos when I filled up just after the light came on, I v nearly got 13 litres in and it's a 16 litre tank.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
What have I done to my bike today? 1) Fixed front indicator back on. (Must have knocked it off removing the dust cover. It's a 1998 bike but the holes for the indicators look shaped for the blobby ones on later models. I've got little after-market LEDs which don't really fit the holes that well, but...
