Re: Belly Pan Restoration

Keep up the good work Mark, looking good  The hole bit just sand it down with fine coarse paper and fill it up with a washer to match don't over spray it as most of that bit will be hidden and you don't want paint to run... As for the other bits as you sand they will vanish but just to be ...

Re: Belly Pan Restoration

cheers Carl it would have been a lot easier to buy a new one but i'm having fun so far with the restoration project and like you say the sense of achievement is reward in itself ... i'm sort of dreading the final colour bit but i'm not going to try to match the original yellow so that should be one ...

Re: Belly Pan Restoration

i'm thinking that a coat of primer will show up any imperfections which i can then fill before the final colour? Commonly know as a miss-coat, it soul purpose being to show up any imperfections. Very addictive smell that two pack filler, it's the same for petrol, hot tar, coffee, early morning gras...

Blind Spot Mirror

having been out and about on the bike in the recent sunshine i wanted to improve my rear view (don't we all) so in an attempt to do so i've mucked about with the mirrors. i thought about getting those little stick on ones (and i might still do that) but they look a bit too small to me so i got a cou...

Re: Belly Pan Restoration

i put the yellow lowers on this afternoon to see where they touched the exhaust and they definitely need bending away on the RHS. also not 100% sure where i bolt 2 of the brackets on - they didn't line up onto an obvious bolt. i took some pictures, perhaps someone can explain which bolt i'm aiming f...

Re: Belly Pan Restoration

Good job but remember that the thin section of the belly pan that you've done in filler is close to the exhaust which will burn of from heat Put the pan on the bike and using some soft aluminum redesign that bit so it clears exhaust Just a thought though don't have to if you don't thanks for that -...
