Re: Looking for 'Hero Blob' Spacers and Seat Cowl Trim pleas

Hi Mr Wicky - thanks for that. yup - I have "surfed" Dave Silver and Wemoto, and the wee bits come in at about £20. Which I grudge paying for 2 tiny metal toobs and a bit o rubber trim. Dave Silver has always been a bit on the pricey side for bits, and you look at the part on his page, you think ...

Re: mother ferking echeques

I still use paper cheques, but VERY rarely. I sold something a few weeks back on Gumtree, and accepted a paper cheque from the guy on the understanding that I didn't post oput, till the cheque cleared. He was fine with that, and lives like me - the old fashioned way! I always try to use cash ...

Re: Wanted: Carb Inlet rubbery things...

I'm banned from using a grinder....but that's totally different.

Well, in a way it's the same. It also involved a tongue, but didn't have such a great outcome.

Never mix body piercings with drink is all I'll say on the matter.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

What have I done to me bike today? Took the cover off. Washed, waxed, autosol on the hangers and heel plates, checked the tyre pressures and inner treads. Fitted old 1980s American bike alarm (off the Honda Wing) and annoyed the hell out of the neighbours whilst running through all the different ...

Re: E-petition - abolish m'cycle road tax

Free road tax for motorbikes would be great! They are efficient, don't cause traffic jams, use less energy than other vehicles, and do little damage to the road, so, why should we get hammered each time we decide to ride one? But, that's been an age-old argument since tax began, and I can't ever see ...

Re: A9 Average Speed Camera System is now live - 28th Oct 20

I dunno! They've been arguing for ages about wanting to dual the whole lot, but, understandably, that's gonna cost too much - both in finances and disruption. They seem to put the cameras at known accident blackspots, and attempt to now get folk to slow down before they hit them (no pun intended ...

Re: Hel brake lines - front and rear

Black and green is always a good combo - even the sunglasses green of these lines would look quite smart on a gloss black bike. You could always get them Hydro dipped any colour or pattern that takes yer fancy. Just plug the ends, and mask up the banjos. Failing that, 40 rolls of black insulating ...

Re: Guy Martin on TV again.

Hmmm. Having watched the Tandem record programme last night, I dunno if they should have got the record. I mean, ok, they were in a trike set up (no rules that a tandem must have 2 wheels). But, the riders were almost side by side, so legally for the record, and technically, they were riding a ...

Re: Full to empty-

I wont tell you what I done the other day, but if you was behind you would smell it. Have you converted the bike to run on paraffin? I did re-consider doing it for a recent purchase bike, but if I get stopped for a check, they'll a) smell it, and b) Customs won't be very happy with me. I've run ...

Re: can't see the new topic button

hamilton motorcycle services Ah yes - Hamilton. I remember going back and forth to the Hamilton motorbike auctions many years ago (Around the late 80s, very early 90s). We took down the shitty end of the trade in bikes that wouldn't sell in the dealership. Most sold for sweetie money in the end ...
