[quote="PARSLEYRIPPER Long live the traditional Sports bike. Maybe I'm getting old![/quote] Nope, yer not getting old. There are more folk like us that share the same opinion than the bike designers would like ius to believe. I suppose they all have to jump on the bandwagon and try something ...

Re: New V2 coming tomorrow
. I also spotted you've got the VTR back wheel off, ready to slide the compressor underneath and mate that up to the chain? Can't wait to see what 2 V-twin engines are like one behinds the other like that. That's also a good idea for you. One wheel at the front, and 2 at the back. But surely, it ...

Re: Rant
Couldn't agree more with you Parsley! I was invited to a Honda open day, where the delights of all the new bikes were on view, and available for a test drive. Got there (a drive of 50 miles one way), and I was not impressed at the bikes in the flesh. I said so to the sales rep: "Sorry mate, but ...

A friendly hello from all the way up here, to all the way down there. As Firestorms go (colour wise), I own a red one. But, out of all the colours I've seen, I like the black the most. I think every bike/car/van/truck/tesco trolley looks good in black. If I had yours, I'd have the wheels ...

Re: Banned for speeding
. Never been done for speeding in all the years I've been riding. Although I have been flashed a few times by the speed cameras - but never had any photos or fines through the door. Those in Scotland will maybe know that we get "test flashes", or the flash to let you know you are "pushing ...

Re: manual cct front pipe red after ? help
Crikey, this IS a mystery. Only other thing I have, is ok, you got Yoshi cans on the back, but what about the downpipes? Are they original VTR? What would the possibilities be (and here I ask for technical advice too), of the headers being thinned down over time? Some bike header pipes are double ...

Just another thing to check: Although the Iridium plugs (NGK DPR 9EIX-9) have been recently fitted and are classed as "new", don't discount them. The ceramic on the Iridium plugs are easily damaged - and can crack or split easily if banged or knocked. Even a hairline crack could cause problems in ...

...ride bikes, talk bollcks and drink beer (not all at once though) Yes, you CAN do all of that at once. That's what they invented the old Honda 'Wing for. Just so happens I've bought meself a winter hack in the form of a Honda GL - so.... Ride bike - check! Buy a Bluetooth headset for the helmet ...

Re: manual cct front pipe red after ? help
Someone also just shouted "exhaust gasket". Is the front of the exhaust header black or sooty? Is it spitting when running? May be a worn header gasket, allowing the air mix to be off, and cause hotter running. Process of elimination, and again, the more you start up the bike, the more chance of ...

What are the jet settings like? Could be too lean a pilot jet? Check that the spark plugs are the right ones for the bike. (You get different heat settings) But, I personally would not keep trying the bike until everything has been "dry" tested - i.e cold, with NO engine running. If the header is ...

Re: DRZ mot'ed, taxed and back on the road.
^ wot he said.... Concrete or breeze blocks aren't a bad idea, I agree. But he'd never ride the bike with them on the bars. Nope. So, he needs to get a front basket off an old Honda PC50, and mount that in front of the headlight, resting on the mudguard (ala PC50) Then, fill it with the bricks, old ...
