I believe it is possible to use coloured LED lights to change the instrument panel colours. Here's a link where some work was done on a VFR800 panel, could be of interest to you.

Re: evening all
Before you strip the bike too far, did you check that the cam sprockets and crank timing marks are aligned?

Re: Stray Hose
Do I win any sort of prize for posing an unanswered question??? :?: I still can't figure out where the hose should go. It's clearly an overflow drain for something, as it tees into the fuel tank vent, and terminates under the motor. At present I just have it sitting loose under the carb above the pl...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
When I got mine I road it 10ks from where i bought it to home. I bottomed the fork twice. First thing I did when I walked in the house was e-mail Robert Taylor in new Plymouth for new springs. Search Rogered forks on here to help with the valving. Where did you ride? I've been down the springing an...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
T'was a big day today. I finished re-assembling the VTR, balanced the carbs, replaced a couple of missing or damaged parts from the PO, and then set off for my first proper ride. After rebuilding the forks, greasing the rear suspension, cleaning and bleeding the brakes, changing the oil and filters ...

Re: Stray Hose
1997 model. The hose tees into the fuel tank vent hose (the smaller dia one at the right rear of the tank) just below the RHS rad, this line then drains under the motor.

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
I installed an APE manual CCT on the front cylinder (to match yesterdays rear manual CCT), checked the valve timing and the valve clearances (all spot on, yahoo) and cleaned as much of the motor as I was able to access and wipe down. Then added a vacuum take-off point and hose for the front cylinder...

Re: hose from top of front cylinder
Aha - I misread the original post, that does sound like the breather from the front cam cover that plugs into the bottom front left of the airbox. My stray hose is a small 5mm id hose that terminates under the airbox somewhere, passes out to the right and downwards and looks like a drain for somethi...

Re: hose from top of front cylinder
Ha - I have exactly the same question! I also have no idea what to connect this to.

Re: Stray Hose
I'm at work now but my recall is 5mm id, about the same as fuel tank vent and bigger than the vacuum for the fuel tap.

Re: Stray Hose
Thanks Wicky, but its not that. I fitted a vacuum take-off line there myself last night, and removed the OEM socket head bolt and washer to do so.

Re: APE manual CCT installation
Thanks Darkember; 6-7mm is exactly what I set the CCT to. I certainly spent many minutes on my knees with a torch looking at the various timing marks, and came to the conclusion that if I did move the sprockets around on the chain, the alignment would be even worse, so I left well enough alone. But ...

Stray Hose
I had my carbs and airbox out to get access to the front cylinder valves last night for manual CCT installation. Upon reassembly I have one small stray hose, about 7-8mm diameter. Looks to me like the Water Bypass Tube in the hose diagram, [img] [IMG]http://i629.photobucket.com/albums/uu15/Cadbury64...

Re: APE manual CCT installation
Time for help please. I think my front cam timing is off by one tooth. If I align the sprocket marks exactly, the FT mark is a bit off (see the pic). If I align the FT, the sprockets are slightly rotated. Can someone please confirm? http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/04/09/34d63c3ff7b0081af00ca4b504c...
