Cheers Chris,
Thanks for checking. I was supprised when it sprang back as well. You'd think the spring would have that covered.....
Can now get the spring coated and reassembled.

Checking a standard rear shock
Managed to get the spring taken off the rear shock today. Has anyone got any tips on how to check the damper now the springs off?
The damper rod looks all good, no pitting and no leaks but it seams really hard to push down is that normal?
NB this is probably just a paranoia post!

Re: VTR Cafe Fighter Project
Just a little update, been working on the linkages and swing arm. New bearings all round so should feel like new! I've also ordered some tube to build a new sub frame so will update when I get started. http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu218/ant_cg/Mobile%20Uploads/tmp_9535-DSC_0306-692626760_zpslv...

I expect to see vast purchases of bits and some planning then, ehhh, nothing much really!  Vast progress? I think maybe I did the butt scratching bit at the beginning of the project, I have had the...

Re: VTR Cafe Fighter Project
Hello Tony, I was intending to go that way withit to start with. The only way I could think of was the stuff the rude boys use to tint their rear lights. I gave it a go on a spanner but didn't like the look of it too much. It could work better on a polished surface I suppose.....
