Ha ha I know what you mean - I'm a bit anal about these things too. Have to have an elegant solution even if it costs a few bob.

Sorry lloydie but the idea of cable ties brings me out in a cold sweat!!!

Plastic fasteners for fairing lowers

Found i was missing one of these plastic screw rivet (scrivet?) thingies when I had the fairing off at the weekend. Anyone bought from either of these two: http://www.speedyfasteners.com/M6_6mm_Scrivet_Screw_Rivet_Fairing_Screws_p/sf190.htm http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-VTR1000SP-year-2004-and-sim...

Mystery rubber bung!!

Morning All Took the fairing off the bike for the first time yesterday and as I lifted it off a small black object dropped out - looks like a rubber bung around 20mm diameter with a 3mm lip at the top. Anyone know what it is and does it belong in a hole on the Storm or is it just a foreign object hi...

Allen head bolt for rear cowling

Bit cheeky this one - only been on the forum 5 minutes & already on the scrounge!! Was doing a bit of fettling round the rear of the bike in a howling gale this aft and one of the bolts for the front of the rear cowl got blown down the bloody drain. :( Don't suppose anyone's got a spare t...

Re: Hello from West Wales

I have a 2003 F3 and tried to fit an earlier LH switchgear a couple of years ago, as the F3 doesn't allow you to switch the lights off. It all went together ok, and allowed you to switch the lights on and off, but you lost the headlight flash facility. I decided to revert back, although I'm sure wi...

How the hell did you find that? Mine's a 2002 model but it looks pretty similar.

Thanks!

Can't PM you agentpineapple cos of lack of posts (may have to post 50 items of gubbins) but one of the boys suggested that you may have a left-hand switchgear assembly that you might be willing to exchange for beer tokens?[/quote] sadly I've recently sold my spare lhs switchgear mate, try mac, i'll ...

Welcome to the club mate. Teal is considered a member of the blue brotherhood, but not like a favoured blood brother, more of a below stairs, out of wedlock, servant girl knocked up by the master of the house sort of brother! another member of the blue sisterhood then....   we...

Re: Headlamp dip switch

Well, as I feared, the nice MOT man was not to be persuaded that a non-functioning dipswitch (even though it was stuck on dip & not on main beam) could be classed as an advisory & not a fail! To be fair to him he did take it apart and give it a good spraying with WD-40 to see if he could coa...

Re: Hello from West Wales

Bloody hell - what is this obsession with the colour of my bike?!!! Sorry saintsman but my Storm would definitely be more at home on the other side of Stanley Park!! For those of you not familiar with the lovely city of Liverpool my bike is a very tasteful blue - sort of turquoisey I would describe ...

Headlamp dip switch

Hi All Just wanted some feedback on the headlight dip switch & nothing much came up when I did a search. Basically the problem is when I push the switch to get full beam the button doesn't stay in but pops straight out again. I've tried a squirt of WD-40 but this seems to have actually made it w...

Hello from West Wales

Hello everybody, just wanted to say hi. My name's Pete and I've got an immaculate Storm (boasting again) dating from Sept 2002. She's only got 11,000 dry miles on the clock though that is likely to change now I've moved to Wales! Interested to get some feedback, particularly on the dreaded cam chain...
