Re: Y124p yellow paint

Do you not have a local mixing place that could colour match? Bear in mind though that with age, bleaching and weather conditions the colour over 18 years will have changed significantly and you will never get a close match but a "that will do" match. I've just spent an hour+ at a paint m...

Re: Y124p yellow paint

when i checked my code it turned out wrong because the bodywork had been changed in the past..is yours the paler yellow or the darker earlier colour? That's the thing wether it's been painted before or not, I'd say no as there seems no overspray on the inside of the panels but I'm not 100 percent s...

Correct yes.
Very close is ok with, but it's too orange.
And that's supposed to be the correct primer, pearl and lacquer according to their computer.

Y124p yellow paint

I've got a 97 y124p yellow storm that managed to drop over on my drive at 0 mph :sad2 This made the right hand side fairing crack that was already there, way worse. I fixed it with a Dremel and Q bond (excellent stuff). Rubbed down got it all looking good. Went to local paint distributors and they h...

Re: I've got a wobble on

Cheers Tony, will do. Only balls up I made was not checking the front lights were working before I replaced the fairing :eek2 It's only the position light, maybe I didn't push home the connector block hard enough, it's definately not the bulb as I've tried a few spares. Oh well, could have been wors...

Re: I've got a wobble on

Update..... I replaced the steering head bearings yesterday, it took a good portion of the day but that was constantly referring to the manual and double checking everything ans not rushing. Took the bike out for a ride this morning and the wobble has gone, it's like riding a different (better) bike...

Re: I've got a wobble on

I've got a big hammer and chisel at my disposal, even a blow torch, no welding gear unfortunately. Bearings should be delivered tomorrow so might get to start it over the weekend, although it's forecast nice weather and would be a shame to have the bike in bits when I could be out and about on it fo...

Re: I've got a wobble on

Thanks carl. How long would changing over the head bearings take for one of you experienced chaps, and any tips/shortcuts for getting it all stripped down prior to the bearing removal/ replacement as thats been covered so I should be ok there? Just ordered a kit so it's all good to go one weekend......

Re: I've got a wobble on

Thanks for all the possible causes. VTR Phoenix mentioned checking wheels/tyres, they were all fine. I think I'll just bite the bullet and order the steering head bearing kit, While I'm in there I may as well change the lot just to be sure, if nothing else it will eliminate that potential cause, and...
