Re: Engines back together but its loud.

Put her up to 9,000 today after flushing all of the windshield fluid out of the radiator and giving her nice clean distilled and blue antifreeze. I mentioned at some time or another that I cant read japanese and it said -35 it was blue but I never checked the viscosity. Saw bubbles and stopped pouri...

Re: S valves.

Carl your the man. your cct guide saved my butt. I really needed to know how tight to run the cct. Mine is a little tighter but not much. Didnt do the rear yet but I have a spare engine coming. Rear is next but I think shell survive a ride to the hardware store to get another bolt. The bolt I got fo...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

Well first of all WHOO! WH WHOOOO! WHHOOOOO! I got it running and went for a test drive. It's grunty mean and torquey. I bet i am 180 out as it seems better than ever a bit too good. The worst thing I ever did to an engine was what I did today. I filled her with good clean water and then I added wha...

Re: Manual Cam Chain Tensioner Installation Guide (MCCT's)

Thanks Carl thanks everyone. I had a big issue because timing was out 1 turn. re timed without even taking the rear cover off and shes fine. Dont leave the rear cover on anyone who hasnt done a bunch of engines. I have and I still screwed up with the cover off. I only left it on because I had it off...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today

got it running sort of... I think I just ID'''d the problem. I am guessing if rear was on tdc and I turned the crank a little more until it was on tdc. I have my cams set to the wrong stroke.... I think.... Tomorrow= Torque wrench and a re time also a bit longer of a bolt for my diy manual cct. It w...

Re: Engines back together but its loud.

Was all in spec. Guides were fine. I am worried that maybe we took too much off one of the vlaves and maybe the cup is clanging around because our mic lost its zero and we took a bit more off than we wanted but a 2.00 shim was too high and 1.95 was still in tolerance of .35 clearence. Valves that ca...

Engines back together but its loud.

Under anything over low idle the valves are loud. It may be off timing. But I timed it so that one lobe was straight up on the rear while the other was pointed out on tdc. as per guide I believe. It also sounds a bit off while cranking like its got low compression. My manual cct is just a bolt throu...

S valves.

If you dong do your CCT's one benefit is S valves! S valves of course are free but I decided to take my set out and replace them with standard. S valves are piss poor for compression.
