Re: RE: Re: Starter Motor Terminal - Would You Bother?

if it was mine id slip the motor out, its a two min job and be carfull cause if the bolt starts to spin in the starter it will wreck the insides. it will pick the very worst time to let you down so whip it out and change the nuts and clean the stud up. Thanks - so how do you get a spanner on the lo...

Starter Motor Terminal - Would You Bother?

I took the rubber boot off my starter motor wire terminal the other day to find a nicely corroded stud and nut combination. After a bit of wire brushing it all came up OK but it's clear that the nut on the end needs replacing at some point as it looks to be correded away some what. I've had no issue...

Strange dip at 9k revs

Ok, well I've had the bike for about a month now and I had my first proper ride out today covering around 120 miles. I was with my mate who was on an 08 GSXR 1000. My Storm performed flawlessly all day pulling strong in every gear, but towards the end of the day there was one straight road where I r...

You'll find it as your nuts hit the tank :-)
Thanks for that! So at what revs do your nuts hit the tank then?

Rev Limit?

So I've done a bit of searching on the forums and can't find a definitive answer to this - was wondering, does the VTR have a rev limiter, and if so, what RPM does it kick in at?

Re: Idle Speed and Choke

Thanks all, already sorted before replies, found the plastic screw cap behind the rubber boot.

So where's the idle speed screw on the VTR chaps?

Muchly :)

Idle Speed and Choke

Got a couple of questions: firstly, what sort of revs should my Storm idle at, and is it OK to adjust this to help prevent stalling? Secondly, I have to manually hold my choke on to start my bike, if I let go the choke switch thing retracts all the way back - shouldn't this stay in position? thanks ...

Re: CBR 600 stick coils

So how easy is this mod, and what do you need along with the actual CBR stick coils (someone mentioned a harness)?

Re: Left-hand Exhuast Link Pipe Issue

Thanks for all the replies chaps, I'll see how it holds up as it doesn't seem to be blowing at the moment. If I get a free evening I'll try loosening everything off as suggested, to see if I can get a better fit.

Re: Left-hand Exhuast Link Pipe Issue

It's the left hand can (if you're sitting on the bike). They are stock exhaust and one-piece down to the downpipe connection. They have Honda stamped on them. The photo shows the rear cylinder downpipe where it splits from the right-hand pipe, it goes into the left can link pipe (which is part of th...

Re: Left-hand Exhuast Link Pipe Issue

So MacV2, is this quite a common issue on these bikes, i take it you've seen this before?

Seriously though, if you remove the lower bracket wont there be considerable stress on the joint at the link pipe/downpipes?

Thanks

Are they std exhasusts ? Try not using the mid fixing point...i.e. Clamp & gaskit where they join as norm & just the fixing to the rear hanger. With std cans you get a 3rd fixing point towards the back of the front footpeg hanger...Leave that one unattached... If the front hanger has any da...

Left-hand Exhuast Link Pipe Issue

My left-hand exhaust was blowing at the link pipe on my '98 Storm so I purchased a new clamp/clip and gasket. One of the things I noticed when I went to take the exhaust can off was that it didn't fit as neatly as the right-hand can, it was kind of angled down a bit at the rear hanger fixing as if u...
