Re: Liverpool docks

A local shoplifter goes into the chemists.
He says "I'd like a comb please".
The shopkeeper asks" do you want a steel one"?
The shoplifter says, "No, I'm prepared to pay for it on this occasion".

Re: Wales 2017 Meet Friday 15th Sept - South East ride west

I signed-up as "DEWG", which are my initials (there is no extra tax to pay on having 4 names). I wouldn't know how to pronounce it either---Deputy Dewg? I did a substantial post about my recent bike history (4 bikes in 14 months, before a KTM 990 friend (a friend for nearly 30 years) told ...

Re: Wales 2017 Meet Friday 15th Sept - South East ride west

Hi,

I'm on for the Wales trip. I live in the City of London. Can meet up anywhere (I have a VTR1000, you know).

Re: SATNAV

OK. It's confession time. I have a Samsung phone that I bought from ARGOS for £14.99 years ago. It is very advanced. It does phone-calls, and texts, and, um--- if you press "OK" it tells you the time, and there is a calendar, and an alarm clock, and even a calculator! Do not mock those of ...

Re: SATNAV

Hi, Smartphones are very "minutes hungry". I only have 300 minutes per month to play with (£3.95 per month with Talktalk---how cheap is that!). It's cheaper for me to keep my current SIM contract, and get a cheap Satnav. You can get one for about £60.00 in Halfords. Just wondering if anyon...

SATNAV

Afternoon, I need a Satnav that talks to me through an earpiece---not bothered about the quality of the screen, cos the device will be in my pocket while I'm riding (or maybe I'll stick it on a glove, for an occasional look). If I have to go somewhere, I'll check the route on RAC Route Planner first...

Re: New member saying hello

Hi, I am defo on for taking Wales by Storm. Please let me know when the trip is. I am not very computer-literate, and I think I have probably used the New Members section enough. Might look at the rules and see what I am supposed to do! As the old saying goes---if all else fails, follow instructions.

Re: New member saying hello

Evenin' all. Thanks for all the feedback on the carrier/luggage situation. Much for me to consider. I need to be able to carry my work-stuff on Monday---too soon for me to have made a decision and carried it out, so I have bought a rucksack. I'm not too happy about wearing a rucksack on a bike at al...

Re: New member saying hello

Thank you for your warm welcomes. I emailed the Barbican to see if they would let me park my VTR in their car-park a 2 minute walk from where I live. I don't have a Barbican flat, so I thought they might tell me to get lost. Not so! Underground car-park with 24 hour concierge. It's £289.00 a year to...

New member saying hello

Hi, I bought a black 2000 model VTR1000 yesterday, which I rode home from Kent to central London yesterday afternoon. It has manual cam-chain adjusters fitted, and flat bars, and an aftermarket seat and exhaust pipe (dyno'd), braided hoses, 12 months MOT, fully serviced........... I handed over prop...
