Hi...how does work...disconnect earth from rectifier and run straight to battery. Thinking of fitting a small volt/charging gauge to keep my eye on it...what do you think...cheers again.

Well thats the old type which are prone to failure. If its done that to your battery it's a sign of over charging. It's good that you have no burning in the block so that should be good to go... I'd deff change that R/R & ovbiously you need a new battery... The way to tell if it's working/charg...

It ain't necessarily so, change the RR and all should return to normal, assuming the battery is ok.

Cheers. I am going to a local classic bike show tomorrow so i will let you know. If i take the cover off the stator do i need to remove the stator or is it just a visual check from the one side...thanks.

Hello...taken old rectifier off tonight. All looks good. No scorched electrics no scorched plug...rectifier looks ok...how can you tell its knackered. Could it be something else....

Hi there...i have seen a mosfet RR on ebay for 50 quid...genuine BMW one. Its a 012 not a 020 is this any good for a VTR...Cheers

Hi all...i think my regulator has packed in today. Smoke from under the seat a strange smell and the battery looked like a football. It was really hot as well.

Hi there I have just had a set of engine casing bolts for my Storm. both engine casings...including water pump...clutch slave cylinder...sprocket cover...tank bolts...left and right handlebar...switches etc...clip on bolts...only thing is they didnt come with washers so i bought some black stainless...
