Re: And so it begins

A project worth saving. It does look a bit dirty but for a bike of this age condition is acceptable.

Re: Indicators flashing in reverse (left=right and vice versa)..

I am sure I will take the switchgear apart (and its connector) one day as I am not very happy with this "fix". I can get it MoTd now what was my main concern. Chain adjusters are fitted, bike runs well after I sorted out the fuel lines. This was the only problem left to worry about before ...

Re: Indicators flashing in reverse (left=right and vice versa)..

I have been working my way round the diagram and the wiring for the last few days (I obviously missed the MoT on Saturday). I have gone through the entire thing twice and short of replacing the switch gear I have looked, adjusted and checked absolutely everything and I found nothing wrong. In the en...

Re: Hello from Middlesex

I hope this will work. Two dirty 2am Wednesday pics of the Stormy. Although dirty my mobile doesn't do it any justice. She is red, not pink.

Re: Indicators flashing in reverse (left=right and vice versa)..

I am painfully aware of it.. I could not find any clear electrical drawing that would help me. The switch gear was untouched and I cannot work out what would make it work the other way round. I am finding it difficult to believe it would be wiring at the back as how could this affect the dash? I hav...

Re: Indicators flashing in reverse (left=right and vice versa)..

The body work and wheels were swapped over from a different Storm so no, it was not completely taken apart. Manual CC tensioners were done and few other mechanical items, nothing major. Wiring was untouched with the exception of the removal (cutting out and replacing) rear LED light and indicators.

Hi everyone! Just a quick introduction here. My name is Greg and I am a returning VTR owner. This is not only my second time with a VTR but also the second time I am owning this particular bike. There is nothing like the V twin grunt and the sound.. You all know what I mean . I will be picking your...

Indicators flashing in reverse (left=right and vice versa)..

Hi guys and gals I have went through all historical posts relating to "indicators" and I could not find an answer. The problem: Indicators used to flash just fine then bike was taken apart. I put it back together and indicators are flashing the opposite way. Yes when I switch left indicato...

Most probably, yes.
Boy, was I relieved when she started fine and was running smooth.

It may or may not be the issue with the OP's bike but it is quick and easy fix so it is worth checking.

Unfortunately I do not have any pictures apart of couple with her being worked on on the bench, naked (without the fairing, tank etc). It's a public forum so nudity is not allowed . .

Re: Starting problem

As crazy as it sounds I used to have a similar problem. Bike would struggle to start and even if it did it would cut off and die after a minute or two. It would refuse to start for a while and then after 5 or so minutes it would start again. I suspected the battery but after fitting a freshly charge...
