Re: Project bike time!
Welcome Joe. I work not far from Hunts and I'm in and out periodically for spares. Next time I'm on I'll say hello. Looks like you're moving along nicely with the tidying up. Just don't go looking for any really trick parts. It's a slippery slope. For sure pal! I’ve already got my eye on a carbon f...

Fork Options
Hey all, You may or may not have seen my fastly progressing build thread in the pimp my ride section. One of my massive gripes with the bike is the lack lustre front end. Soft. Vague. Meh. Granted, they’ve probably never had a service. So I think a flush and oil change would do the world of good. As...

Re: Project bike time!
Today has been a good day. Firstly, managed to source a reasonably priced 6 spoke front wheel. Also dug through some new old stock at work and got myself a new chain guard, stator cover (this has a tiny mark, but it’s getting powder coated anyway!) and a brand spanking new front fairing stay/bracket...

Re: Project bike time!
Honestly. The thing goes like sh1t off a shovel. No flat spots and more than enough power for me! It’s been jetted, and has a k&n.
Bike hasn’t been used for a long while either, so the more miles I put on it the better and better it gets. Yes. I should pull and clean the carbs. It’s on the list.

Re: Project bike time!
That’s weird. There’s absolutely no signs of it being cut, patched, welded, or messed with. Bends are nice and even, welds are all good, if it is a home brew they did a wicked job of it

17362B89-C030-4164-8F52-8DDB7496B679.jpeg Well, here’s todays progress! First off, started by changing the rear wheel bearings and the Cush drive rubbers. This made a massive difference to the gear change on the bike. No more clunky gearchanges. Awesome! Next up was a strip/clean/lube of the rear l...

Re: Project bike time!
It’s a chinese fairing kit indeed. The fitment in this pic was awful. I’ve since adjusted it in some places and it does look a whole lot better..... it does have a tank cover but it actually fits really nice. And the tank underneath isn’t marked so that’s a bonus!! I will keep an eye out for some or...

Project bike time!
Hey all! My names Joe, and I’m from Manchester. Recently got myself a lovely (shite) VTR1000 Firestorm and despite it being a shed, it’s instantly grown on me to the point that she’s a keeper within a week! Bike is a ‘99, and with about a million previous owners, and some very dodgy previous repairs...
