Bearings now being replaced

Have a quote of basically £200 to overhaul shock - I think buying a new replacement after market is the way to go - any recommendations for a good replacement? They seem pricey here and I’m back in the UK end of September for a week so may pick one up there...

Removing shock was easier than I thought :lol: The lower mount needle bearing and dust seals are all good too. Part of me thinks I should get all the bearings replaced in the pivot arm and link arm since they’re off the bike, but they’re all intact and moving freely so maybe I’ll just repack with gr...

Thanks for that. Taken it apart now, the long bolt on the shock link was a bugger to get out but all done now :lol: All needle bearings are intact, some were seized/tight but all loosened now. Thanks guys. Bike now “hoisted” and starting to take things apart. Looks like I’ll need to remove the header pipes - rather not have the weight of the swingarm there... thoughts? I must say I'm impressed on how you have gone through all you have looking for a possible problem. As for the shock, in your photo there appears to be no sign of oil leaking out, so that is good. How does the rear end feel when you push down on it and allow the rear to come back to it's normal rest...

Saw the thread here about suspensions linkage service and one of the first photos shows a large gap between the rear of shock link arm and the exhaust... mine is sitting in the exhaust... will get a picture shortly.
