Re: Say hello to my little friend.
Yeah the original owner took good care of it and garage kept. I'll be doing the same with her for sure. I keep saying it but I'm excited as heck for this to be finished. These bikes where I live are not that plentiful and a bit rare so it will definitely be a head turner when done. ๐๐ Going home tom...

Re: 50 posts for Classified?
so anyway, where do you stand on the trump/biden thing? that should get your post count up.... I don't. I have too much going on with life with my current builds, my reading, learning, and taking care of my physical body so the spiritual side can lead me to the peace I seek in life. :bigg...

Say hello to my little friend.
Catchy title from one of my favorite movies.  I thought I'd start a thread on this build for my 1998 FireHawk I purchased in August of this year. Coming from a 1973 Kawasaki KZ400 from 25 years ago I wanted a liter bike as the 400 was outgrown quite rapidly. Like the Kawi when I purchase...

Re: Valve clearances
Well since I'm out for 4-6 weeks at a time I can measure the clearance, take note of what I need, and order while I'm out on the road. That's pretty much what I've been doing the last 3 months. I've got to do the mcct's so that's why I'll be checking valve clearance too. Might as well while I'm in t...

Re: Valve clearances
So this is a good time to ask this a I really have no idea where to get a shim to get the clearances needed. Is it worth to get a 140+ piece shim kit for the bike? It would seem the best way to go rather than going to the dealership and get individual pieces, no? Here's the setup I'm looking at. htt...

Re: 50 posts for Classified?
You'll get there. Good subjects are which colour is fastest and why, also what oil to burn. Talking about air filters jetting and airbox mods will get you to 50 in an afternoon! I've read pretty much everything on these forums that pertain to maintenance and mods/ performance. I'm very mechanically...

Re: 50 posts for Classified?
I'm also a member of the SuperHawk forums and have already purchased some items off of their classified section with no problems or strict requirements from the forums. Just don't say anything bad about EBC brake pads or you'll end up banned like me..... :Banned:    No can't do t...

50 posts for Classified?
Just a bit of a rant about the rules of having to have 50 posts to be able to buy or sell anything in the Classified section. Some of us don't post a lot and do more reading than posting so it seems to be a bit of punishment because we aren't post whores. :? I've already seen a few things come...

Re: what will get you through winter?
Chris I've learned in life that the best mod you can make to a bike or a car is the driver or in this case the rider.
Time to spend the money on me so I can truly enjoy what my build has to offer and ride the steed off into the sunset.

Re: Hey all.
So what part of the States are you located? You can run a 520 chain with no issues on this bike. As for what the numbers mean...520,525,530 and so on here is a good reference: https://i.imgur.com/k3IGnMR.gif For gearing, personally I would either go to a 43 on the rear (preferred) or a 15 on the fr...
