Finally got it running

Thanx guys for the help...finally got the superhawk running. Took me a little bit though....forgot to hook up the vacuum line to the petcock! Soon as I hooked it up.....fired right up! Very different bike to ride (own a gsxr750) but I like it....lots of torque but runs out quickly on the top ...

spark plug gap size

I finally finished relining the tank and ready to put everything back together. Hopefully it will run.

I have done a search with no luck on getting the spark plug gap size for a 1998 superhawk. Anyone know this off the top of their head?

sounds pretty simple enough to do...I checked with my dealer and they have a 3-stage kit in stock. Going this afternoon to get it. thanx again and will post again regarding the out come..

thanks....I have a new problem now. Carbs all cleaned up (alot of junk in them) new pilots as the other ones I could not unclogg fully, everything buttoned back up......check the tank and its full of rust!

Gonna have to buy a fuel tank repair kit....hopefully it works.

never mind...read up and found out hot coolant runs past the carbs to prevent icing....

sorry....should of researched before hand

I am by no means a mechanic but I took the carbs off the superhawk and there was coolant in one of the lines....this can't be right! Just to let you know, I am not the owner of this bike (gixxer owner). Friend of mine had this bike for about 6 years and sittin for 3 years, I told him I could ...
