Re: Engineering group idea - thoughts please

Having a lathe of your own in your workshop/shed or garage must be great, but as you mentioned it's one of those machines that are not going to be used that often. but I have had to make do one way or another without. Also they take up valuable space, which is another issue if you're limited. The s...

Re: Removing very corroded fork seal

Acid remove the rust? Acid or anything corrosive would eat the aluminium alloy a lot more than the rusty steel. Not necessarily. I remove broken bolts or taps from aluminium with battery acid and a battery charger, basically i am anodising the aluminium and the lump of steel gets eaten. No damage t...

Re: comfort for the elderly

I didn't know what a KTM superduke was and had to google it. I am trying to stick to speed limits now I am old. How absurd is it going though the village at 30mph when a lot more is fine. I looked at the pic of the superduke, they look very like the tidy litte little orange thing I saw in the davies...

Re: Thread Lock, what do you use?

222, 242, 270, 290. I part assembled a bike for someone who put a product on every bolt. He was shocked I didn't use assembly lube, duralac, antisize or loctite. Next time he appeared he bought his tray of products and instructions for every bolt, instruction I ignored. But after seeing loads of dam...

Re: What are you listening to.....right now?

Just wondering what the last gig I went to was. It was probably The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine at Brixton. Went to see them in Brighton a few days before that, clearly liked it a lot, bird moaned about her ears for months, My Bloody Valentine do it loud. This is what I am listening...

Having a lathe of your own in your workshop/shed or garage must be great, but as you mentioned it's one of those machines that are not going to be used that often. Not cheap to buy either, but are invaluable when you do need one. There have been times when I wished I had one in my garage/workshop, ...

Re: Gerald has been to stay.

Nothing to eat in the garage, unless you like chewing on iron. I got the tank off this afternoon, they were in the had dragged some crap in there and chewed the element but hadn't made it to the basement. Better pull the carbs off and clean them while I have the tank off. https://i.postimg.cc/DSj0XY...

Re: Gerald has been to stay.

It's kept outside. I have mice in my garage, trying to keep them out is pointless as it's well ventilated; but they don't bother me so I don't bother them and have never tried getting rid of them. Mouse in the garage better than mouse in the house sorta thing. But mouses living on the jap bike is a ...

Re: Gerald has been to stay.

Wasn't to sure what that meant. Assumed it was a user, but maybe a little google might show it was some wondrous mouse repellent. Seems it's a cannabis strain with mention of smells that mouses don't like, I am just reading the google search results. so I have to sit under the cover and smoke some m...

part number for Honda manual?

I wondered if anyone knew the part number for the manual.
Fancied a paper manual.
I know Suzuki manuals are listed on the bike microfiche, I assumed Honda
manuals were but can’t find them on on line parts thingies?

Maybe I need aVTR microfich!
