Re: Anybody have experience of working with titanium....?
I bend and form tube for a living and have worked with titanium occasionally. The softer, more malleable grades are quite straightforward I have a 6al4v oil filter housing machined all over, it turns nicely, but the tap stuck when threading it, no way is a tap going any further. Tube us good for th...

Re: are open face lids lower over eyes?
No.
On the off chance full face lids were better I bought one, it’s no better.
So either I youthify the old neck or I fit some He Hebos.

are open face lids lower over eyes?
I am not finding clipons uncomfortable. But my riding is limited by my necks endurance. As the collar of my jacket is pushing the lid over my eyes I am having to channel my inner tortoise and try and see where I am going. I am hoping full face lids are better with clipons, better be I have just boug...

Re: Anybody have experience of working with titanium....?
I have a little experience. One thing I made was springs for a crossbow, they are pieces of sheet.
I havent a clue what alloy or eat treatment the sheet was as it was in the titanium scrap bin.
It made a great spring.
It took teeth of a new Eclipse all hard blade.

Bike Covers?
What size?
Any type of cover people have found last for longer than year or so, without
falling apart in the super hot English sun?

Re: set of Oxford soft panniers USE
just logged on to see if people used saddlebag type thingies? years ago my brother used some ex army bags to collect something on his T25. One bag was resting on the high level exhaust, which had a heat shield on it, it burned the bag and contents! The bike the bags came off had frames keeping the b...

Re: Red, Yellow, Orange, Black or Metallic Blue.
Reminds me of my ZXR.
I Bought a crashed one and was at the front of a long queue for it
outside the the blokes workshop. But he wanted it paid for and taken away.
So I drove home with a ZXR stuffed in the back of a golf.

Re: Probably going to be VTR owner?
I went to one owners club meeting to collect something and I was probably 20 years younger than anyone there.Commando77 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 6:55 pm Well, I left classics behind near 5 yrs ago and don't regret it. The runs and meets were fun but it became the same old thing.

Red, Yellow, Orange, Black or Metallic Blue.
I have never bought because of colour, always bought what was local and the right price.
But now I find myself offered metallic blue and yellow bikes tat are OK, but I dont like the colour!
I would prefer a black bike.
Thoughts?

Re: Straight bar conversions
Any pictures from further back, so I can get a better idea of how much the fairing was trimmed? And maybe a photos with the forks on the lock stops. I am looking for a bike to buy and one nice looker has had the faring behind the mirrors cut away. It looks like its got stock bars. Emails were answer...
