Fuel E10 / E5
What are the pros and cons of these different fuels? Is it really bad for the motor to use only E10? Do people mix it, or vary it depending on type of journey? I’ve heard that the E10 is actually only about E7.5 anyway, but they can’t always guarantee it, so must label it E10. (This was talking to a...

Re: Front brake line ‘Race’ set up
For anyone reading this in the same situation as me, with off the shelf race brake kit (2 separate lines up front)… In the end, I swapped back to the long hose to Left, shorter hose Right and I went back to the original Honda bracers mounted on the fork legs too. The P clips were holding it too near...

Re: Tuning help
Hi Chris, Yes both, which is not that surprising.., I didn’t do them up very tight.. It was also slightly leaking from the new vacuum port I put in for balancing, but I expected that too. I only used a 4mm spigot, which annoyingly proved not tight enough in 3.2mm ID hose 🤷♂️ Also possible leak from...

Re: what have you done to your "bike" today
MOT done. Bike now on the road, albeit in need of sone serious tuning. Just touched the speed limit ‘ahem’ on way back from test centre…, I can already see it’s going to be lots of fun!! Cheers all. https://i.postimg.cc/dkx9n7S3/028-F266-D-37-BC-4-FE5-A7-BE-375-CC88215-CC.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/xc...

Re: Tuning help
Thanks for this. Will try tmro. I appreciate any help..
So, to the untrained ear, will it be obvious if there’s a vacuum? I’m assuming it’s a very potent spray..

Re: Tuning help
I presume that’s tank and airbox off for good access? I’m veering towards air leak too atm., it would possibly explain the revs over running - also the front pilot being fully screwed in and not stalling (although that meters fuel and not air?) It will have to stay as is until after MOT Tuesday, the...

I’m just down the Road from you in Hedge End, yes I know, but don’t worry - a)I come from Pompey and b)I don’t like football 🤪 I got a storm 6 months ago (also blue) and this forum has really helped me with the rebuild project. MOT Tuesday 🤞🤞 I’ll be doing the flat bar mod over wint...

Re: Tuning help
The bike is all back together now. Still having trouble. It’s proving very awkward to tune. Here’s what I did: 1) Bike warmed up. 2) pilots both at 1.5 to start 3) Idle screw set to high idle - 1800rpm 4) Front - turned pilot out slowly to see if rpm increased - it did not. So, I turned it in and th...

Re: Passing Switch for MOT
** UPDATE **
I’ve mended it. What a mission?
Took me all day. It was a trapped wire deep inside the switch gear.
Now back to the tuning issues.
Thanks for all responses on this one.

Passing Switch for MOT
MOT looming - Tuesday. Everything works now except the passing switch. I’ve taken the left gear apart - the actual switch works but then two wires (Black/Red and Blue) go into the main light switch, where the signal is not passed on. Possibly a dry or corroded joint in there. Hard to get to. I assum...

Re: Tuning help
I replaced the choke cables - old ones were seized solid.. Cleaned up the needle bits and where they attach to the carbs. Plenty of oil down the outer cables too. The choke doesn’t feel very positive - ie it just flaps about - there’s little resistance to pulling or pushing, but it does kind of work...
