Re: what have you done to your storm today
avoid going 15-45 as it will wear a lot faster than you expect due to the same teeth hitting the same links every turn. make it an indivisible number like 15-46 or something. you will thank me in 25000 miles, or kick yourself in 8000 for not listening :biggrin Hi Benny, Can you elaborate on this pl...

Re: Easy fuel one for 10
I think I have it sussed now. Thanks all for replies. I might only be days away from trying to start this thing up. Anyone know if everything on the wiring loom needs to be connected for it to start? I was this thinking about trying to start it long before the front is finished, which would mean hav...

Re: Easy fuel one for 10
Perfect thanks.
So, where does B go to? What does ‘overflow’ mean please.
Is it one of the 4 that are open one end and collect together in front of the generator casing to vent down onto the floor?
Cheers

Easy fuel one for 10
Please see picture. The bigger hose shown here (red circle) I’d assumed was a fuel return? Where does the other end locate please? On the carbs? I can’t find anything for it to plug on. Maybe it’s a water drain? The smaller one, some kind of breather for the fuel tank, just onto the tarmac? Cheers I...

Re: Fork oil seal direction?
Yes, I suppose there are no moving parts as such in that area during normal operation, so what you say makes sense.

Re: Fork oil seal direction?
Also, just found this on a CBR forum. https://i.postimg.cc/Bt23tQhy/16-BD4-B3-D-F6-E4-4-D8-A-B0-E9-FE7-EC00-C01-BD.png It's a shame there isn't one like that for the Firestorm/Superhawk, that would have saved any confusion. I think they’re probably the same, if not then similar enough for the diagr...

Re: Fork oil seal direction?
Only a guess, but Haynes may have put that bit in from their finds when they stripped down Firestorm forks when producing the Workshop Manual. Hi Chris, that was my suspicion too.. in the end I went with it the way it was. Seem to have worked just fine. The ‘slinky glide’ from WeMoto… Bike’s coming...

Re: Fork oil seal direction?
Oil seal is springs down ( on the oily side) and writing up (on the Fresh air side). Washer can go either way, the radius is just a side effect of the way it is manufactured, but I tend to put the square side towards the bush. I’ve just put it all back together as you said, then found this in Hayne...

Re: Fork oil seal direction?
You’re a scholar. Thanks
For something so critical, I can never understand why the manual doesn’t give a bit of info beyond just saying ‘make sure it goes in the correct way’

Fork oil seal direction?
Good afternoon. After a 2 month break I am back to resume the VTR. As the old fork oil seals were more rust than seal, I have no good photo record of dismantling. Haynes drawing is not much help. Two questions please: Which way round does the oil seal go? My guess is that it’s spring down/towards th...

Re: Testing fuel sender unit
Yes, but I’m a way off any power yet and while the tank is still awaiting a de-rust and in bits I need to test this, as there’s some cheap on eBay right now if it’s faulty. Does it measure the actual level or just sense when fuel is low? I was thinking could the bit with wire be tested in water or e...
