Re: Jet recommendations

Thank you guys. I’m going to get the carbs out tomorrow if it’s not raining and I will update you with the idle settings and jet sizes.

Jet recommendations / carb work

Hey guys, I will be stripping my carbs soon as I’m got a very rough idle (I’ve owned the bike for a few weeks and was like this). Another problem I’m having is crazy amounts of popping on deceleration. The bike has carbon quill end cans with baffles fitted and I’m assuming stock headers (although th...

Re: Maiden voyage problems.

Thanks Chris! I’ve ordered a set of spark plugs and the kit to balance the carbs and a multimeter to check the tps, if this all fails I will strip the carbs Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's worth trying those things first  When you check the TPS, if you get yourself 2 of those (red ...

Re: Maiden voyage problems.

I'm not sure how many miles this bike has done, or if it has been standing for any length of time before you got it? Just to add to what Tony has suggested, I would check the carbs to see if they need balancing. Take a look at this link: http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18430 ...

Maiden voyage problems.

Hey guys, I’m wondering if anyone could help me to come up with a plan to investigate some issues I have with my vtr. I should start by saying, I purchased my vtr 2 weeks ago from a dealer about 150 miles away, without seeing it first! And had it delivered. After taking delivery from a third party d...

Hello from Torbay!

Hello all! After what seems like an eternity I have gotten back into biking with the help of a lovely vtr that I picked up for a steal (from a dealer too!). Even though I’ve owned her for over two weeks I’m get to have my maiden voyage due to the weather and some work I wanted to do on it before I r...
