Re: Scotchland....This summer?

Holy thread resurrection Batman :D Right, this is deffo on the cards. I am going to Ireland for a couple of days at the end of June, ferry back from Holyhead on the 29th. Re: Hi - New to Bikes and Firestorms!

Welcome aboard.

My first bike after a 15 year "break" was a Firestorm (then a SP1, currently on a Fireblade). Is it heck too much...after all, the throttle works both ways.

Re: ireland again...

Timbo, I could be up for that. I am planning a wee trip to the Republic to see my folks, and was thinking of combining this with my Scottish roadtrip. The original plan was Holyhead-Dublin. Couple of days in Westmeath, then either up to Belfast and across to Stranraer, or back via Holyhead and then ...

Re: Flapper Mod

There's nowt really to go wrong, and yer bike will thank you.

make sure the chain is well lubed and the back tyre has 42psi in it (dry chains and sticky/under inflated tyres will rob BHP)

Re: Flapper Mod

I have decided to splurge and taken Steve's advice, booked the old girl in for a Dyno custom map at the J33 Dyno Centre. Had a chat with Andy, he sounds so laid back he was almost asleep, knows his sh1t though, well he impressed me :) And if Zakalwe recommends, its good enough for me. He is doing m...

Re: Flapper Mod

Keep meaning to do this on the SP  I'll look into it this week as I'll be giving it a good fettle :) It's looking rather mucky at the minute-350 mile trip to/and round Wales and 150 mile a week commute are keeping its legs stretched :) It takes all of 30 seconds as the flapper valve diaphr...

Re: Flapper Mod

The PAIR system injects fresh air into the exhaust ports. This helps to burn any unburnt fuel in the exhaust and reduces emissions. There is normally a couple of reed valves on the head near the exhaust ports (SP1s have them for instance). Flappers are airbox intake valves. They are used (allegedly)...

Re: free harley test ride !! had to have a go

So the moral of the story is that if you want 40-50 ish year old blokes to stare at you in admiration/desire/omg , then get a Hardley Ableson???

wombles that. I'd honestly rather get a Massey Ferguson and let the middle-aged blokes stare at someone else :D

Re: Fireblade remapping

Some good gains had there, tuning gets pretty addictive :) sowhat ya going to do next This is pretty much as far as it's going.....though my dyno guy reckons that he can get real big low and mid range gains from tweaking the ignition. So I have half and eye out for a Dynojet ignition module. If I g...

Re: Fireblade remapping

Yeah, yeah, I know it's an IL4, but I though you might like to see some real horsepower numbers (ducks for cover and runs like hell!! )    Sounds like some pretty good gains to me  I suppose they make up, a little, for having the embarrasment of an in-line four :big...
