Re: Just gota VTR few newbie questions
Slide the the rubber boot off the end of the choke cable mounting (near the choke knob). There's a knurled plastic ring underneath. turn that to increase the friction on the choke cable....hey presto, no more slipping choke.

Re: Back on a twin
If I had any luck, it was that it blew on a straight. I was on the A6 at Shap at the time, and that's a fast road. Some of the corners can be taken at over 110, so if it happened there then I would still be bouncing. Shook me up for a bit actually, just thinking about it.

Back on a twin
Not been on here for ages.....loads of shite's been going on in my life (my Dad was in hospital a couple of times and has been diagnosed with prostrate cancer, work's been mental, etc etc etc). Anyhoo, the gearbox on my Fireblade exploded when travelling at a rate of knots, chucking cogs through the...

Re: how do you guys do your wheelies?
1St gear is too savage IMHO...very easy to flip it, or get smacked in the face by the top yoke. 2nd gear, roll to about 30Mph, wind the throttle on and dip the clutch. 3rd gear needs a big dip and a yank on the bars. Mind you, I do have 160BHP to play with :D :D If you want to do fast wheelies then...

Re: SP1 Bought.... Not Happy....
No need o change the clocks......You can change the speedo to show MPH and miles on the odo by holding down the buttons on the clocks when you switch it on (I cant remember the correct sequence....search on Speedzilla).

Re: How D.I.D. I manage to trash my chain so quick...?
Hold on, back right up. You put a new chain on old sprockets? There's your problem....the new chain will wear like f*ck. Always change the sprockets when putting a new chain on. Yes, I did - in 30 odd years of biking - I've never thought it an issue, and have never had premature chain wear - I can ...

Re: How D.I.D. I manage to trash my chain so quick...?
Truth to tell, I didn't do the sprockets - they looked near new - when I buy the decent chain I will however (prob -1t on front) Does make me wonder if the chain I bought wasn't pukka - it came with a split link (I got it from Wemoto IIRC, so you'd assume all is well) Ah, well, nowt I can do now - ...

Re: 954 Forks
All looks good...decent progress! The front end of the bike has lowerd quite a bit, about an inch and half maby more? Umm..wont that have changed the geometry of the bike? Are the forks shorter than the original forks? If so, then it is going to be very skittish to ride...after all, dropping the yok...
