Re: DataTool vito Alarm removal

The alarm should not drain your battery flat in 8 days, if it can't hold more charge than that sounds like it needs replacing.
As suggested, an Optimate is a good investment - particularly if you don't use the bike every day.

Re: I might be swapping my Firestorm

...i might go for the cheap option first ,ie the sheepskin cover ... Trouble is when it rains the sheepskin goes a bit manky and sheds hairs. Still comfy though. So you'll be going home with a smile on yer face, sheep hairs all over yer crotch, smelling of manky sheep, piss wet through... what are ...

Re: Clutch Lever

Yep, Pazzos are good and have a wide range of adjustment. You might be better with the 'long' style if you want a light pull (better leverage), or the 'short' style if you want shorter reach. I put a pair of long levers on my Tiger.

Well I'm screwed then.... Still, when MOT time comes around (in 3 years) the H4 bulb can go back in :)

Re: I might be swapping my Firestorm

Don't know much about GSX750W but I do know that example looks to be in superb condition, someone has looked after it (provided the mechanicals have had the same treatment). I know about the aches 'n pains, annoying to cut a run short 'cause yer back's killing you. I miss the storm but my new tiger ...

Re: SP1 white smoke - loads of it

If you got coolant in the exhaust then white smoke from the Redex is no longer an issue. It's possible the gasket was all but gone before the Redex went in and carbon was the only thing sealing a gasket split and Redex 'cleaned' it out... You won't know until the head is off of course, but if true i...

Re: best tyres for storm??

Never had 021 on the Storm but had them on the VFR. I would NEVER buy another Bridgestone after these. 3000 miles finished off BOTH tyres. The front was dangerous and had no shoulders left. I had an 014 on the front of the Storm when I got it and this went the same way. Avon Storms for me. Good job...

Re: Google Chrome browser

That would be Adobe Flash player I'm thinking - and you'll need to install the plugin version for Chrome for it to work. You have a version that works with Internet Explorer but that for Chrome is slightly different. There are issues with Chrome, and Flash is one of them. You'll find a How-To here [...

Re: My Storm's going next Wednesday...

Well the 'storm finally went last week but when I went to pick the new bike up yesterday there was no sign of it. Don't know if it's been sold already or just moved to auction. I'll be keeping an eye out for any new member with a yellow storm with the site sticker already on the screen! Have a few b...

Re: Mini indicators

There were some fitted to mine (not LED) and the flashing speed was fine, the visibility of them is questionable though. Turning sharp left for a hairpin turnoff, I slowed right down and drifted right a bit before the turn, someone nearly shunted me up the butt then bitched he didn't see the indicat...

Re: My Storm's going next Wednesday...

thats just wrong!!! :eek2 Have to agree it doesn't look right at all. Maybe it's the photo angles for much of it, but those flat bars are going to be awful from any angle... Before I bought the Tiger I considered a new 'Blade, the HRC repro in Hunt's is simply beautiful. I went to try a different b...

Re: My Storm's going next Wednesday...

Yeah, it's tall - but I'm a tad over 6ft and 16 Stone so I need something big! I had a real close look at a Moto Guzzi Breva 1100 that was in the shop, never had anything much to do with Guzzis but I was impressed by the build quality of this one. http://www.bsbikes.co.uk/img09/usedoffer/breva.jpg ....

My Storm's going next Wednesday...

Sad to see her go, but chronic backache and a touch of arthritis means I could only manage short-ish runs on her at best. I'll still be on 2 wheels though, part-Ex'd the Storm for a new Triumph Tiger 1050, hoping the easier riding position will allow longer runs. Having a race exhaust put on giving ...
