Out of interest whats wrong with the one fitted as standard?.Im only asking as mine seems very hard but my last bike was a cbr400rr and that was way way to soft.Is this the norm?.

That all depends on the wear and tear thats already there,best way to check is to turn the engine over(BY HAND)and inspect the bore for scrapes and marks,also I drop the oil and strain it to look for metal bits as this is a good sign that the ends have gone(bronze or white metal flakes). Good huntin...

Sod it Im doing it this weekend 8O ,got to be worth it and it costs nothing but the skin off my knuckles :lol: .As for only 2000 out of the front when you live in scotland(north of) thats about a summers wear and tear :twisted: ,fair play i say :!:

If all seems well up top then I would say it sounds like ether you ends are shot or you have piston slap(but this normally causes oil burn ie blue smoke out of the cans)due to the rings being shot.
Hope its none of the above and its just somthing come loose,best of luck!.

You can check to see if theres any leaks in the exhuast system as this will make it pop and fart.

This mod does the same as raising you rear ride hight(spacer on shock)the only thing is you will lose ground clearance and as the storm is poor on that front I would have to suck it and see my self.If you go ahead let us know the out come as raising the rear is a no no for me as Im a short butt.

The starter system would be my first point of call,as its the main fuse and i guess you have not changed anything lately.Shorts nomally happen because of age(relays) or vibration somthing V twins are very good at 8O .
