I hope to set off early on the Friday and stop off in the lakes (poss Keswick or Penrith) then leave Sat morning crossing via kirby lonsdale to the eastern side. Last year when I went down to wales, I had 7 or 8 stops not any of them at the limit of the tank, as the distance of the service stations ...

First Bike; Honda XL250 K 1978, I cleaned out my post office account to get it. Rode it around the woods for a year and then prepped it for the mot 1982. Never managed to red line it, top speed was I think 67 with a following wind, all the mates with X7s and LCs used to let me go off first (usually 1...

A mate of mine bought one 2 years ago he put 1200 miles on it over 6 months and put it in the garage. Sold it last week, he said if only he had a decent test run on it before he bought it. He likened it to a two stroke. When the Vee tec cuts in at the wrong speed for touring /cruising it was not a p...

Iggy. The hotel sounds better as knowing my luck it will p--s rain all the way down from up here. Nothing worse than putting up a tent in the rain, apart from climbing in to one at 1.30 in the morning with a good cargo on board.

Any details on the tel no or web site add of the hotel ?

Cheers

The w/e 26-27 probably suits me better as I hope to have cleared a backlog in my work schedule by then, also it is the week before our holidays and for the first year in 10 I hope to be winding down prior to the break. Not like previous years working 16 hour days for the last week.

Cheers

Thanks for the info regarding that Stormtrooper. I heard a couple of weeks ago that the local bobbies (Northern constabulary) were planning the same thing. Noticed in my local paper yesterday that the feds in Fife caught a tin box driver at over 150mph whilst the driver was using a mobile phone. Che...

I had hoped to go last year but due to work and other things I could not attend. but this year if something is being arranged I will make a special effort. I will be going to Cadwell (somewhere around 450ish miles from here) on the Aug-Sept bank holiday making a 3 day trip out of it with a stop in t...

Did you find any difference in the performance of the bike after fitting the baffle's. The reason that I ask is that after buying a pair of them last year I looked at the diameter of the holes in the 3 pipe cluster and thought it was of smaller area than the oe can exit hole (will this cause any adv...

Blue Flame do spacers for their High levels. The only thing is they are about 4"/100mm long. Beware of a pillion climbing on as the extra leverage on the rear subframe caused by the pegs being 4" further out is enough I think, to possibly cause damage to the rear subframe, depending on how...

I have written to blue Flame twice now regarding the same thing and have not recieved a reply yet ( 1year) So I took the opportunity to ask one of their reps at the Scottish show. He said all the cans they produce now are road legal (all oval ) with removable baffles and that they did not make any p...

Heard from a friend last week, that all through April the local plod (Northern constabulary) aim to stop as many bikes as they can to check out the cans etc.

Saw quite a few as well, including a nice SP2.

There was some rasp of the big Aprillia RSVR in the sports production race.

Are you going down for the meeting in May?

cheers

Sorry I don't have any pics of the high levels at the moment. They do look good apart from the 90mm spacers!!!!!!! for the pillion pegs, I reckon that a hefty passenger putting weight on them might bend the rear subframe. So my spacers are off for the moment. Also the way they sweep up pretty close ...

Not long back from the Hill. A good days racing, the weather could have been better (Rain and Hail showers and a freezing bloody wind). Not very often you see a field of 30+ on the track at any one time and as for the sidecars what more can I say. I will be back down for the next meet on the 2nd May...
