Like Tony, I have never heard of a coil making that sound when powered up either. You could try disconnecting that coil and see if it’s still there? When you do have it running again I would check the voltage at the battery terminals using a multi-meter, it should read between 13.5 to 15.5 volts. ...

What are you guy's using to protect the Microfibre construction now found in many motorcycle boots :?:

There seems to be plenty of treatments for leather boots, but not a lot about for Microfibre construction :problem:

Well turns out it wasnt just the ignition switch, the datatool alarm was shot too. with alarm bypassed and new ignition barrel connected to loom, (But not fitted properly yet) we have power. Cheers for the help guys. can now move onto tidying and restoring her to former glory and an mot. cheers ...
